"I am delighted that Alcaraz is joining the European team in Berlin. I expect him to be the first piece of a special squad next year," said European captain Bjorn Borg.
The Laver Cup is a team tennis tournament named in tribute to the legend Rod Laver. It pits Team Europe against Team World (the rest of the world except Europe).
The European team won the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 tournaments, but the World team won the last two years.
Carlos Alcaraz on his decision to attend the 2024 Laver Cup: "It's a great honor for me to represent the European team. I will do anything to bring the championship back to the European team."
After being eliminated early at the Paris Masters, Carlos Alcaraz is determined to regain his form at the 2023 ATP Finals taking place in Turin (Italy) from November 12 to November 19. Novak Djokovic is the defending champion of this tournament.
