Carragher points out the name Arsenal don't want to mention.

Jamie Carragher sees Phil Foden's strong return as a potential game-changer in the Premier League title race, with Man City accelerating and Aston Villa continuing their fierce pursuit.

The Premier League title race is heating up with each round. Arsenal narrowly avoided a draw with a late victory against Wolves, but Manchester City and Aston Villa both secured three points shortly afterwards, maintaining the pressure. In this context, Jamie Carragher sent Arsenal a double warning: don't just look at Erling Haaland, because Phil Foden is the player who could make the biggest difference.

Man City beat Crystal Palace 3-0 at Selhurst Park last weekend, marking their fifth consecutive victory in all competitions. Haaland scored his familiar brace, but Carragher focused on Foden, who scored his sixth Premier League goal in just the last four games. This is a sign that the 25-year-old midfielder is truly back in form.

“Foden was the Player of the Season a year or two ago. Last season he wasn’t himself. Now it’s different,” Carragher said on Sky Sports. “When Foden is at his best, he’s one of the best players in the league. For Arsenal, the big worry isn’t Haaland, it’s Foden.”

According to Carragher, Haaland is "predictable." The Norwegian striker scores 30-40 goals every year. Foden, on the other hand, brings unpredictability, the ability to explode from midfield, and the capacity to make a difference in the most tense matches. That's what makes him unpredictable for opponents.

Ironically, Pep Guardiola was critical of his player after the Palace match. He argued that Foden lost possession too often, made hasty decisions, and needed to play more calmly. However, Guardiola still acknowledged that Foden was making a positive contribution to the team.

Foden himself reflected on his performance. He admitted that he didn't play well in the first half, trying too hard. In the second half, Man City were calmer, and Foden's goal came at the right time, helping the team relieve the pressure. "I set very high standards for myself, and so does the manager. I know I can still do better," Foden said.

On another front, Aston Villa continued to impress with a comeback victory against West Ham, winning 3-2. This was their 15th win in their last 17 matches, bringing Unai Emery's team closer to the top of the table, just three points behind Arsenal. Carragher had special praise for Emery, suggesting that at the moment, only Pep Guardiola is a manager of superior caliber.

The title race is therefore becoming increasingly complicated. Arsenal are leading, but Man City have hit their stride and Villa are not giving up. And as Carragher stressed, Phil Foden's return may be a small detail, but it's enough to change the course of the entire season.
