The purple poinciana tree blooms thickly, the fallen flowers create a "purple carpet" on the yard, making many people's hearts flutter.

Dalat has begun to enter the purple phoenix flower season. In addition to the purple phoenix flower trees and roads popular with tourists, the phoenix flower tree in Tram Hanh commune fascinates many people.

The tree was planted in the yard of Tram Hanh Primary School many years ago. The school security guard said he did not know when the royal poinciana tree was planted, but since working at the school more than ten years ago, he has seen the large royal poinciana tree, familiar to many generations of students.

Sam Sam, a photographer who loves Da Lat, visited the school last Sunday and said the tree was in full bloom and beautiful. The purple color covered the entire canopy, like 'dying' a corner of the school.

The small royal poinciana flowers fall all over the yard, creating a 'purple carpet'. This royal poinciana tree looks like a pair of split trees, the base protected by a cement base.

Sam said he had gone 'hunting for photos' of many purple phoenix trees throughout Da Lat, but rarely saw a tree that looked as cute as this one. The tree was about two stories tall, had many branches, and from afar it looked 'short and round', very adorable.

Purple Royal Poinciana has the scientific name Jacaranda acutifolia, originating from South America, introduced to Vietnam and grown mostly in Da Lat since the 1970s. The tree is large, 10-15 m tall, with a canopy of 5-7 m, leaves similar to Royal Poinciana but the flowers are completely different. Purple Royal Poinciana flowers are tubular, 4-5 cm long, blooming in clusters. When the flowers are at their peak, the entire tree canopy is covered in purple. The time for the flowers to bud, bloom and then fade only lasts about 3-5 days. But the tree blooms continuously, one batch after another, so the purple Royal Poinciana flower season will be long, sometimes up to two months.

To find this 'round dwarf' purple phoenix tree, visitors look for Tram Hanh Primary School and follow the directions on Google Maps. However, because the phoenix tree grows inside the school, visitors should ask permission before entering. It is best to come on a day when students are off to take pictures easily.
