Trees fell and flooded many places due to wind and rain

On the morning of May 10, prolonged heavy rain caused many roads in some localities to be flooded, making it difficult for people to travel and live.

In the early morning of May 10, a heavy rain and thunderstorm occurred over a large area in Tuyen Quang city and Yen Son and Ham Yen districts of Tuyen Quang province.

The storm caused severe damage to housing and agricultural production, broke trees and caused local flooding on many roads, affecting people's lives and traffic.

In Tuyen Quang City, Dinh Tien Hoang Street (Tan Quang Ward) was deeply flooded, making travel difficult. In the Tan Quang Lake area, a series of trees were broken and felled by strong winds.

In Ham Yen district, the house and workshop of Mr. Bui Xuan Bac's family (Tan Thanh village, Thai Hoa commune) had their roofs severely blown off. A large tree in front of Duc Ninh commune market gate was uprooted and fell, blocking the path. The corrugated iron roofs of some households in Thai Hoa commune were blown away by the wind dozens of meters away.

Notably, at 8:00 a.m., at Km173+200 (National Highway 2, Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang section) in Tan Yen town (Ham Yen district), the water was more than 1 meter deep, making it impossible for all vehicles to circulate, causing congestion.

The authorities have diverted traffic to an alternative route from National Highway 2 via the Tan Thanh Bridge approach road, then along the Tan Yen - Thai Son route, through National Highway 3B to the Km31 intersection (Thai Son) and vice versa to avoid congestion. By around 9am, some local congestion had been cleared.

Currently, local authorities are cleaning up trees and urgently checking, calculating damage, overcoming consequences, ensuring traffic safety and stabilizing people's lives.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has warned that the North will continue to experience heavy rain and strong winds on May 10 and 11. Therefore, people need to continue to monitor weather warnings and proactively respond to dangerous situations that may continue.

Also on the morning of May 10, heavy, prolonged rain in Binh Duong province caused localized flooding in many districts and cities, many roads were flooded like rivers, making it difficult for people to move and live.

According to SGGP Newspaper's reporter, from around 4:30 a.m. the same day, heavy rain and strong winds caused many locations on National Highway 13 (section through Thuan An City, Thu Dau Mot), DT 743 (Di An City), DT 746 (Tan Uyen City and Bac Tan Uyen District) to be flooded and water flowed strongly.

Notably, heavy rain fell at dawn in Bac Tan Uyen district. At the same time, the area suffered a power outage, making travel very difficult for people, posing many potential risks.

In Di An City, many places were also severely flooded, especially in Chau Thoi Mountain, Lo O Stream, and Vam Suoi Street in Binh An Ward, some areas near the stream, low-lying areas in Binh Thang Ward, Tan Dong Hiep Ward... From early morning, Di An City leaders requested functional forces of the wards to support and ensure safety for people, especially in areas with streams flowing through national highways and construction works under construction to block the flow...

At 8:30 a.m. the same day, the rain had not stopped, many major roads were draining slowly, many vehicles had to stop on the side of the road and wait for the rain to stop before continuing to move to ensure safety.
