Recently, in an interview with Hankyung newspaper, CEO Jeon Hong Joon of Fifty Fifty's management company Attrakt shared his and the band's surprise at the resounding success of the song "Cupid".

"We never thought about Billboard and didn't have the money to promote the song globally. Since American youth who love pop music are mainly students, we only aimed to get on the Spotify chart. But in the end, "Cupid" went viral on TikTok," he said.

Attrakt CEO also revealed the company's difficulties in the interview: " Music production costs billions of KRW, which is a difficulty for small and medium-sized companies. Even with investment, their songs do not rank high in the K-Pop market due to the dominance of large entertainment companies.

After releasing the first Fifty Fifty album, I had to sell my car, eat cheap food and go to my friend's recording studio to save as much as possible on production costs."

CEO Jeon Hong Joon is known as a veteran music producer who has created successful albums for famous stars such as Yang Soo Kyung, Bobby Kim and Ha Sung Woon. Becoming the founder and head of a young entertainment company like Attrakt is a big challenge for him. However, the success of the only group managed by the company Fifty Fifty has shown the initial victory of this talented music producer.

"Sweet fruit" comes unexpectedly

Coming from a young management company that was founded in 2021, trained for a short time, not widely promoted, and participating when the Korean music market already had many famous "giants", Fifty Fifty has created a position for itself.

Thanks to that, the song "Cupid" by the group Fifty Fifty has also gradually risen in the international charts.

The song "Cupid" also climbed to #94 this week, becoming the fastest K-Pop girl group to enter the Billboard Hot 100 in history, having only been in existence for 4 months, beating "dinosaur rookie" NewJeans.

In Vietnam, the song “Cupid” first appeared in the list of 100 most listened songs in Vietnam at number 82. After one week, it rose 70 places to reach number 12 and continued to enter the Top 10 on the country's charts to date.

Fifty Fifty is a rookie girl group that debuted on November 18, 2022 with “The Fifty”, consisting of 4 members Aran, Keena, Saena, and Sio. The talented girl group just returned to the music scene last month with “Cupid”.
