After receiving the above information, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment directed veterinary agencies to coordinate with local authorities to check the information reported by the media.
The results showed that the People's Committee of Soc Trang province directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the Department of Health, Department of Industry and Trade, Provincial Police, relevant agencies and localities to organize surprise inspections according to the content of the reflection.
At the time of inspection, the inspection team at the animal product business establishment at business location No. 12, CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company - Can Tho Branch, address: No. 45, Trieu Nuong Street, Chau Thanh Hamlet, My Xuyen Town, My Xuyen District, Soc Trang Province did not detect the trading of diseased pork and chicken products with foul odors; expired products as stated.
However, the facility violated when the Food Safety Certificate expired; did not present the Business Registration Certificate; Food Safety Training Certificate.
On May 31, the provincial interdisciplinary inspection team coordinated with the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department of Region VII under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to continue inspecting the remaining 3 business locations of the Company in Soc Trang province and did not detect any trading of diseased pig and diseased chicken products that did not ensure food safety; expired at the above locations. However, the Certificate of food safety qualified facility of 02 facilities with business location No. 21 and business location No. 08 has expired.
The test results of meat samples taken at the stores of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company were negative for African Swine Fever, Classical Swine Fever and Blue Ear Disease.
To promptly reassure consumers and prevent negative impacts on the production and supply chain of livestock and poultry meat, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requests the Ministry of Public Security to investigate, verify, clarify information spread on social networks and strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate the law (if any).
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment also issued a document requesting the Department of Animal Health to inspect and verify the incorrect quarantine stamp on sick pigs of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company.
Specifically, after reviewing Report No. 841/CNTY-TYCĐ dated June 2 of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine and based on the information provided by the representative of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine at the Press Conference held on June 3, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requested the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to preside over and coordinate with the competent authorities of Hau Giang province, Soc Trang province and relevant agencies and units to review, verify and clarify the case of veterinary officers stamping quarantine stamps in violation of regulations; which unit they belong to; handle responsibilities according to regulations and related contents.
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine must report in writing to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment before June 5 for consideration and direction.
