Bao Yen launched a campaign to prevent child marriage and incestuous marriage.

On the morning of June 5, in Vinh Yen commune, the People's Committee of Bao Yen district held a launching ceremony to prevent and combat child marriage and incestuous marriage in Bao Yen district by 2025.

Attending the launching ceremony were leaders of specialized departments, units of the district; representatives of communes and towns; Party cell secretaries, heads of villages and hamlets and prestigious people in the area.

According to statistics from Bao Yen district, in recent years, although there is no longer a situation of consanguineous marriage, there is still the phenomenon of early marriage and women giving birth before the age of 18 (some are only 13, 14 years old). Specifically: In 2023, the whole district had 1 case of early marriage, 77 girls giving birth before marriage age (an increase of 6 cases compared to 2022); 4 cases of intention to get married but were prevented. In 2024, there were 11 cases of early marriage (an increase of 10 cases compared to 2023), 69 girls giving birth before marriage age (a decrease of 8 cases compared to 2023); 12 cases of intention to get married were prevented. In the first 5 months of 2025, there were no cases of early marriage, 19 girls gave birth before marriageable age (13 cases less than the same period in 2024), and no cases of intention to get married were detected.

Representatives of communes and towns signed a commitment to strictly implement the provisions of the law on marriage and family.

Launching the campaign, the leaders of the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of Bao Yen district hope that all levels, sectors and people in the area will enhance their responsibility in preventing and combating child marriage and incestuous marriage. Schools and socio -political organizations will build life skills for adolescents and provide a safe space for them to develop comprehensively; focus on propaganda to change people's thinking and attitudes about the risks and consequences of child marriage and incestuous marriage...

At the launching ceremony, delegates watched a propaganda report on preventing and combating child marriage with the content "Eliminating child marriage to improve the quality of life"; representatives of communes and towns signed a commitment to strictly implement the provisions of the law on marriage and family.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, delegates participated in a mobile propaganda parade in response to the communication campaign against child marriage and incestuous marriage on National Highway 279 in Vinh Yen commune ( photo above) .
