Official construction of Cho Moi expressway

The first construction site of Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway at km 28+100, Nong Thuong commune, Bac Kan city

This is an important step exactly one month after the groundbreaking ceremony of the Bac Kan - Cho Moi route investment and construction project on March 15, 2025, marking the actual construction phase of the expressway with a length of nearly 29 km and a total investment of over VND 5,750 billion. The route is expected to be basically completed by the end of 2026 according to the 4-lane expressway standard, with a design speed of 80 km/h.

The Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway is part of the project to build an expressway connecting Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan - Cao Bang, part of the national expressway network planning, which is expected to promote socio -economic development and strengthen connectivity between the midlands and mountainous areas of the North with major economic centers.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Quang Tuyen inspected the scene directly.

Directly inspecting the first construction phase of the expressway, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Quang Tuyen commended and acknowledged the drastic participation of relevant departments, branches, investors, construction units and local authorities in organizing and implementing the project.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Bac Kan always creates the most favorable conditions in all aspects for construction units, especially in site clearance. Therefore, the construction units proactively mobilize maximum machinery, equipment, human resources, organize many construction teams to speed up the project progress, ensuring the best quality of the project. Nong Thuong commune residents proactively cleared the land, creating favorable conditions for contractors to construct the highway.

Currently, the Bac Kan City Land Fund Development Center is stepping up the work of land inventory, verification of land origin and preparation of compensation and site clearance records; striving to complete the handover of the site to the construction contractor, ensuring that the route can be opened in 2025./.
