In Kon Tum , the work of supporting candidates in remote areas as the high school graduation exam is approaching has been carefully prepared with a high sense of responsibility from local authorities, schools and organizations.
Free accommodation for border area candidates
The Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (PTDTNT) branch in Ia H'Drai District is more than 100 km from the administrative center. Located in a border area with difficult transportation, this branch has had very few students for many years. Because the number of students is small and there are not enough exam sites, candidates here have to take the exam in the city center.
Candidates are supported with free accommodation by Lien Viet High School.
Mr. Do Cong Vuong, Principal of Kon Tum Province Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, said that right from the time the exam was planned, the unit coordinated with the Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities Branch in Ia H'Drai District to support the candidates. Of the 58 candidates from the branch, 53 registered to stay at school during the exam period.
Not only providing accommodation, the school also cooks meals for the students, each meal costs 130,000 VND for the 3 days of the exam. The meals ensure food hygiene and safety, and have been inspected and confirmed by specialized agencies.
In addition, 5 parents and 2 teachers accompanying the students will also be provided with accommodation at the school. Mr. Vuong added: "If needed, the school will also support meals for parents. In addition, there are volunteer motorbike taxi teams and exam support teams to support travel for both candidates and their families."
Candidates' living areas are arranged separately, with fences and separate entrance gates to ensure safety and avoid affecting the examination area.
At the Lien Viet High School exam site (Kon Tum City), for many years, this has always been a place that provides free accommodation for candidates and their parents.
According to Mr. Le Dac Tuong, the school's principal, in the 2025 high school graduation exam, the school's exam site had 577 candidates, and the school supported 140 accommodations for candidates and their parents. These candidates lived 20-30 km from the exam site. Because the distance to the exam was quite far, the school cleaned up and arranged free accommodations for the students to stay during the 3 days of the exam.
In addition to accommodation arrangements, the school also provides 100% free drinking water and electricity so that candidates can participate in the exam in the most convenient way. In addition, the school also organizes an exam support team of 20 teachers and students to support and help candidates. The school always has 2 medical staff and has medicine for stomachache, fever, etc. available to support candidates when necessary.
According to Mr. Tuong, the candidates' living area is isolated, keeping a safe distance from the examination rooms, and is fenced and has its own entrance and exit gate, ensuring compliance with regulations so that the exam can take place safely and objectively.
Get motivated
As one of the candidates receiving free accommodation and meals, A Suong (17 years old, living in Muong Hoong commune, Dak Glei district) felt more motivated. Her house is about 50 km from the exam site at Luong The Vinh High School, so it is impossible for A Suong to travel back and forth during the exam. At this exam site, this year, there are 364 candidates taking the exam, of which 167 are in the same situation as A Suong.

To create the best conditions for candidates, many days ago the Dak Glei District People's Committee had come up with a plan to support candidates who live far away. Accordingly, each candidate will receive 80,000 VND from the District People's Committee for each exam day, and the Dak Glei District Youth Union will mobilize forces to cook for the candidates.
"I am very grateful to the District People's Committee, the District Youth Union and the school for supporting me with food and accommodation during the upcoming exam days. From this support, we feel more motivated to pass the exam in the best way", said A Suong.
According to Mr. A Duy Khanh, Secretary of Dak Glei District Youth Union, during this exam, the District Youth Union still maintains 3 exam support teams at the exam site. In addition, the District Youth Union also mobilized 20 volunteers to cook 3 meals/day during the exam days to serve the candidates.
"To prepare breakfast for the candidates, the youth union members will be at the school from 5am. After the candidates take the exam, volunteers will prepare lunch and dinner. The meals must always be safe and of good quality so that the candidates can take the exam with peace of mind," said Mr. Khanh.
