The video caused a heated debate on social media.

According to research, this short video was originally posted on the TikTok channel "Ba Loc Shrimp Cake" (Pham Ngoc Thach facility, Hanoi ) with nearly 65,000 followers on the evening of November 3. This is the channel where the shop owner regularly posts videos sharing cooking secrets, customer reviews of the shop...

In the video, the restaurant owner shared: "If you go to eat, if your order is 99,000 VND and you pay the restaurant 100,000 VND, then just give the restaurant 1,000 VND, don't stand there and take back 1,000 VND.

Generally, it's your money, you take it, but sometimes there are situations: two people, a man and a woman, go out to eat together, and have 1,000 dong left, but you insist on getting it back. In the South, people give you extra. But in our country, you have to get back 1,000 dong. Oh my god, don't do that!

The female owner added: "I tell you guys, if you come to my restaurant and spend 99,000 VND and give 100,000 VND, then you should give me 1,000 VND. Because when you're with your girlfriend, you have to be very generous. When you're with your girlfriend, asking for 1,000 VND back is 'not generous'."

Immediately after being posted, the video received a lot of negative comments from viewers. Most of them said that 1,000 VND is also the customer's money, whether the customer can get it back or not, the restaurant owner has no right to judge. Many people were also upset that the restaurant owner's comparison between people from the South and the North was a regional discrimination.

After being heavily criticized, the restaurant removed the video and turned off the comment feature. However, on other posts or on the fanpage, many netizens commented on criticism or dropped angry emojis.
