On the morning of November 5, the Department of Education and Training of Khanh Hoa province issued an urgent dispatch requesting the People's Committees of communes, wards, and administrative zones to direct educational establishments under their management to let preschool children and students stay home from school on November 6-7 to avoid storm Kalmaegi.
The Department of Education and Training requires schools to coordinate with parents and authorities to ensure student safety during the break. When the storm passes, schools will arrange make-up classes, ensuring the program content and not disrupting the school year plan.

In addition, units need to review, inspect, and reinforce school facilities, especially in remote areas where there is a risk of landslides and flooding. Assets, machinery, equipment, records, and textbooks must be moved to safe places to minimize damage. Schools must assign a 24/7 staff to proactively handle situations when there is a storm.
Khanh Hoa province currently has 786 schools from kindergarten to high school, 9 educational centers with more than 446,200 students.
On the morning of November 5, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, signed an urgent dispatch on proactively preventing, avoiding, and responding to storm Kalmaegi, requesting strict implementation of directives to ensure safety for people and property during the storm season.
