Actually, there is no need to go to the top of Fansipan. Right from Sa Pa town to Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area, many mountain passes were covered with thick fog, making our hearts skip a beat even though the driver reassured us: "Just look at the center of the road and go, it's okay!"

This season, fog and clouds are the "specialties" of Lao Cai in general and Sa Pa in particular. It can prevent you from fully admiring the majestic scenery as well as the century-old works created by the hands and minds of Vietnamese people. But walking in the fog to reach the "roof of Indochina" is a feeling that must be experienced in life.
At 9:30, we arrived at the cable car station. It was drizzling and the road was covered in white mist. However, people were still pouring in. Among them were many international tourists eagerly waiting in line, cameras always ready in hand.
The cabin left the station and glided gently through the Muong Hoa valley. The terraced fields, like golden rice waves, appeared and disappeared under the white mist. After a few minutes, the clouds were so thick that even standing close by, one could only see each other’s faces vaguely. This was truly a case of clouds hunting people, not people hunting clouds.

At a certain altitude, the sky suddenly becomes clear as if pleasing visitors from afar, the terraced fields appear like waves hidden under the white mist.

The higher you go, the more clouds there are. The sight of people walking in the clouds is a beautiful romantic image that everyone wants to capture. It can be said that when you come to Fansipan at this time, you do not need to "hunt clouds", because "clouds hunt people" are everywhere.
And about 100m from the cable car station, the small and pretty Ban May nestled at the foot of Fansipan mountain captivates visitors by fully recreating the cultural quintessence of 5 ethnic minorities: H'Mong, Tay, Giay, Xa Pho, and Dao Do.

True to its name, Ban May is covered in clouds in the late autumn and early winter, captivating from the first step.... Come meet the young generations of the highlands and the groups of indigenous artisans who are always present here. They are the ones who restore Ban May closest to the traditional living space of the 5 ethnic minorities H'Mong, Dao, Kinh, Tay, Giay, Xa Pho... behind this "village gate"....
But the most impressive and touching was the flag-raising ceremony on the sacred peak of Fasipan. The image of the bright red national flag fluttering in the silver mist. All visitors stood solemnly, hands on chest, eyes following the flag listening to the Vietnamese national anthem resounding between the vastness of the earth and sky. At that moment, everyone was united in the pride, not only of the Vietnamese people but also of those who love this land.

The red flag with yellow star flutters in the vast sky, sacred and touching. No matter where they are, all visitors gather here to witness the Flag Raising Ceremony.

That is the moment when every Vietnamese's heart sings the song "Fatherland in our hearts"

The Vietnamese national anthem resounds in the air, connecting all hearts towards the fatherland.
The next day, when we returned to Sa Pa, the fog was still covering everything, but everyone’s hearts were filled with joy. Fansipan today welcomes millions of visitors every year, not only as a tourist destination, but also as a symbol of the Vietnamese people’s desire to conquer.

Climb Fansipan peak to see the incredibly beautiful country, to feel the love for the homeland overflowing in the heart. That is the reason why Vietnamese people, wherever they go, always remember and are proud of their homeland.
