According to the Management Board, the suspension of tourism activities is due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain and the forecast that Da Nang city may be affected by storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi storm). Currently, the weather in the area is still complicated, with the potential risk of landslides and flash floods.
The functional forces including Son Tra Ward Police, Son Tra Border Guard, Ward Military Command, Public Service Supply Center, Son Tra Peninsula Management Board and Da Nang Tourist Beaches, Special-use Forest Management Board... organized checkpoints, controlled and guided people and tourists to ensure safety.
The Management Board recommends that residents and visitors do not enter the Son Tra Peninsula area on their own during the temporary traffic suspension; limit going out when there is heavy rain, strong winds or thick fog, especially in steep mountain passes, streams and areas with high risk of landslides. Residents and visitors absolutely do not go to rocky shores, rapids, coastal areas when there are big waves to avoid danger. Everyone strictly follows the instructions of the authorities, proactively prevents and protects the safety of themselves and the community when the weather is changing abnormally.
Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 12, there was a possibility of widespread heavy rain, flash floods and landslides in Da Nang city. To ensure the safety of residents and tourists, the Management Board announced a temporary suspension of visits to Son Tra peninsula from 2:00 p.m. on October 22, 2025 until further notice. Currently, the rain and floods have caused landslides and rockslides on some roads in the peninsula, making traffic dangerous.
