
At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho reported to the President on the work results of Vietnamese representative agencies in Korea, the situation of Vietnam-Korea bilateral relations and work with the Vietnamese community in the area.
According to the Ambassador, the Vietnamese community in Korea has about 350,000 people, of which the southeastern region of Korea alone has more than 87,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working. The community always promotes the tradition of solidarity, quick integration, has a stable life and has many contributions to the socio-economic development of Korea, is highly appreciated by the local government, and is always conscious of preserving the national cultural identity, looking towards the homeland and country.

On behalf of the Vietnamese community in the southeastern region of Korea, some community representatives expressed their honor to meet the President and the working delegation, expressed their pride and emotion when witnessing the comprehensive development of the country, and thanked the Party and State for their attention to the Vietnamese community abroad in general and in Korea in particular.
Mr. Nguyen Tam Nguyen, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Daegu-Gyeongbuk and Mr. Hoang Khac Giang, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Gyeongsangnam reported on the community situation in the two provinces, the role and contributions of the community to the locality. Meanwhile, representatives of the intellectual group, Mr. Doan Nhat Quang, PhD student of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, Ulsan University and Mr. Nguyen Hoa Hung, researcher in the field of information technology, Busan National University, informed about the situation of Vietnamese scholars, intellectuals, experts, postgraduates, and students in southeastern Korea and their contributions to the locality.
The speeches also made a number of recommendations and proposals to help people stabilize their lives, integrate deeply, and continue to be a bridge to promote the Vietnam-Korea friendship.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President sent his warm regards and best wishes to the Consulate General staff and all the people.
The President stressed that this visit to Korea is of great significance, taking place in the context of the Vietnam-Korea bilateral relationship being in its best development period after more than 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations and 3 years of upgrading the relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, in which Korea continues to be one of Vietnam's leading important economic partners.
Informing the people about some aspects of the domestic situation, the President excitedly said that after 80 years of founding the country and nearly 40 years of carrying out the renovation process, from a poor country, devastated by war and embargo, Vietnam has strived to rise up, achieved many great and historic achievements, becoming one of the most dynamic and fast-growing economies in the region and the world, with the 32nd largest economic scale and among the 20 largest trading countries in the world.
The President also informed the people about the preparations for the 14th National Party Congress, the achievements in the country's renovation and development in all aspects of socio-economics, politics, foreign affairs, and national defense; and shared information about the severe impacts caused by recent natural disasters and floods in the North and Central regions, which have had a significant impact on people's lives and the region's socio-economic development.

Affirming that the Party and State always consider the Vietnamese community abroad an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc and a valuable resource of the country, the President was moved to learn that many Vietnamese workers, students and brides are striving to improve themselves and are trusted and highly appreciated by Korean friends; associations of the Vietnamese community in Korea always maintain teaching Vietnamese, organize cultural and sports activities, support each other, and demonstrate the identity of the Vietnamese people, who are kind, united, industrious and creative.
The President hopes that overseas Vietnamese will continue to uphold the nation's fine traditions, actively cultivate language, culture, knowledge and capacity to better integrate, contribute to the development of Korea and strengthen the friendship between the two nations. Along with that, our people need to promote the spirit of "mutual love", solidarity, mutual assistance, especially strictly complying with the laws of the host country, actively contributing to the development of all aspects of the country and the relationship between the two countries.
Regarding associations and unions, the President suggested that they continue to maintain and promote their core role in supporting the community's integration into the host society, solidarity, cohesion, and building an increasingly stable and developing community; and coordinate more closely with Vietnamese representative agencies in Korea, becoming a solid bridge for the friendly relations between the two countries and their peoples.
The President affirmed that the Party and State are always ready to listen to the thoughts, aspirations and legitimate proposals of the Vietnamese people and, through the representative agencies of Vietnam in Korea, relevant agencies, ministries and sectors are ready to seek appropriate and timely solutions; at the same time, always pay attention to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the Vietnamese people, make efforts to expand cooperation programs on labor and education and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese people to return home to visit relatives, invest, do business and contribute to the homeland.
The President asked Vietnamese representative agencies in Korea to continue to promote their role as bridges and coordinate effectively in implementing agreements reached by high-ranking leaders between the two sides; do a good job of forecasting and advising, and continue to effectively and promptly implement community work and citizen protection.
On this occasion, President Luong Cuong also presented Vietnamese books to the Vietnamese community in southeastern Korea, sending them a message about preserving and passing on to their descendants the beautiful values of their mother tongue and Vietnamese culture - a bond connecting them to their national roots.
