At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States Nguyen Quoc Dung reported to the President and his wife on the bilateral relations between Vietnam and the United States and an overview of the activities of the representative agencies in the United States. Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations Do Hung Viet reported on the relations between Vietnam and the United Nations and the activities of the Mission. Comrade Hoang Anh Tuan, Consul General of Vietnam in San Francisco, reported on the implementation of technology diplomacy in the United States. Comrade Hoang Thuy Duong, Consul General of Vietnam in Houston, reported on the implementation of work for overseas Vietnamese in the United States.
In the intimate atmosphere of the meeting, representatives of the Vietnamese community in New York and the East Coast of the United States expressed their joy and honor to welcome the President, his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation. The community was very excited and proud of the achievements the country has achieved, especially in recent times with the very drastic actions of the Party, State and Government in various fields; reported to the President on the work of Vietnamese citizens working at the United Nations, the activities of Vietnamese associations in the United States and made a number of proposals and recommendations.
Representatives of Vietnamese citizens working at the United Nations Secretariat proposed that the State should support and plan training to have more Vietnamese people working for United Nations organizations; strengthen education and information in schools at different levels about the role and activities of the United Nations and international organizations in fields such as peacekeeping, international security, sustainable development, etc. to help the younger generation better understand global issues and Vietnam's participation, thereby helping the country integrate strongly and develop sustainably.

Mr. Vuong Quang Tu, President of the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in New York, representing the international student community in New York and the surrounding area, said that the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in New York is one of the largest Vietnamese communities in the United States with hundreds of individuals studying and working at universities, research institutes, international organizations and large enterprises. This is a young, dynamic, united community, always looking towards the homeland and wishing to contribute to the development of the country.
The Association's representative hopes that the Party and State leaders will continue to pay attention to the Vietnamese young intellectual community abroad by putting Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation into practice, which proposes creating a detailed database on Vietnamese human resources and experts abroad; soon applying a mechanism to support procedures, information on career opportunities, and policies to encourage these human resources to return or contribute from afar; and enhancing exchange and dialogue activities between domestic enterprises and units with Vietnamese communities abroad.
Ms. Mai Zymaris, President of the US East Coast Innovation Network, said that the Innovation Network currently gathers thousands of members, who are excellent scientists, entrepreneurs and technology experts in Boston, New York, Washington DC, Silicon Valley and many other cities. Along with the Innovation Network is VietChallenge, the first and largest non-profit organization supporting Vietnamese startups globally, playing a core role in the Network. After 10 years of operation, VietChallenge has accompanied more than 800 startups, contributing to affirming Vietnamese intelligence on the global innovation map, mobilizing tens of millions of USD and opening a bridge with leading corporations and investment funds in the United States.
Warmly greeting the staff of the Vietnamese representative agencies and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the United States, President Luong Cuong expressed his joy and emotion at the warm sentiments of the community and thanked the Delegation and representative agencies in the United States for their thoughtful reception, efforts in preparation and close coordination during the working trip.

President Luong Cuong said that this was the first working trip of the President to the United Nations and the United States in his new position and on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Vietnam-US relations; he highly appreciated the preparation and close coordination of the representative agencies to arrange for the working trip of the President and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to take place smoothly.
Stating that the United States is a strategically important partner of Vietnam and New York City is where Vietnam carries out many of its most important multilateral foreign activities, especially at the United Nations and international organizations, the President emphasized that the Vietnam-US relationship is increasingly deepening and developing comprehensively in all fields, especially after the two countries upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; while cooperation between Vietnam and the United Nations has also recorded many substantial results.
The President affirmed that Vietnam's prestige and position in the eyes of international friends are increasingly high, demonstrated by the fact that Vietnam has been elected to many important positions and agencies of the United Nations, and these successes are thanks in no small part to the contributions of all officials and employees of representative agencies as well as our overseas Vietnamese in the United States.
Reviewing some main features of the domestic situation, as well as the results achieved in recent times, the President pointed out that our country is entering a new era, opening up new opportunities, while also requiring new impulses for Vietnam to increasingly rise up and stand shoulder to shoulder with the great powers.
Emphasizing that our community abroad is an inseparable part, flesh and blood, a part of the great national unity bloc and also an important driving force of the country, the President affirmed the consistent policy of our Party and State to always care for and look after the Vietnamese community abroad.

The President highly appreciated the Vietnamese community in the United States in general and the Vietnamese community in New York in particular for their efforts to stabilize their lives, integrate well into the local society, pay attention to preserving national identity and culture and turn to their homeland. No matter where we Vietnamese are, our hearts always flow with the same warm blood, sharing pride with the nation and people as well as the mission of building and developing the country to become stronger and stronger.
The President hopes that the Vietnamese community in the United States will continue to contribute to the homeland and the country, whether directly returning home or indirectly from afar; whether through capital, experience, intelligence or persistent, silent efforts to preserve the Vietnamese language and promote the national cultural identity in the host country; and continue to play an important role as a bridge to help promote the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
On this occasion, the President commended the efforts of the staff of representative agencies in implementing foreign affairs tasks, while always paying attention to community work.
The President requested representative agencies to continue promoting foreign affairs, identifying this as an important and regular task in the cause of building, developing and protecting the Fatherland in the new period; strengthen research and advising the Party and State on effective and appropriate policies and guidelines; continue to do well in community work; pay attention to and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of overseas Vietnamese; create all favorable conditions and support for the Vietnamese community in the United States to continue to grow and successfully integrate into the host country.
