The President began his program to attend the 32nd Asia -Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week and hold bilateral meetings in the Republic of Korea.
Welcoming President Luong Cuong and his delegation at the airport on the Korean side were Director of the Diplomatic Academy Choi Hyung Chan and leaders of Busan city. On the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho, Vietnamese Consul General in Busan Doan Phuong Lan, along with officials and staff of the Embassy and Consulate General of Vietnam.

The APEC Forum has 21 member economies, including the world's leading economies such as the US, China, Japan..., 9 members of the Group of 20 major economies (G20) and many emerging economies, with about 38% of the world's population, contributing 61% of GDP and 47% of global trade.
The 32nd APEC Summit is expected to promote dialogue and cooperation among economic leaders, jointly address common challenges, and make progress in resolving economic and trade issues, thereby creating a favorable international environment to promote stable trade and investment flows, sustainable, self-reliant and inclusive growth in the region and the world.
The conference is also expected to create a framework for extensive cooperation within APEC in the fields of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, along with new momentum to promote public-private cooperation to maximize resource mobilization for digital transformation, green transformation, energy transformation, strategic infrastructure development, and economic connectivity, thereby contributing to promoting the transformation of growth models of member economies.
Vietnam became an official member of APEC in 1998, an important milestone in implementing its open foreign policy of diversification, multilateralization and international economic integration.
During nearly 30 years of participating in APEC, Vietnam has actively and proactively contributed to promoting peace, cooperation, and regional economic connectivity, maintaining APEC's role as the leading economic connectivity mechanism in the Asia-Pacific region.
The President's working trip is also an opportunity for Vietnam and the Republic of Korea to consolidate and deepen the foundation of good political relations, promote the effective implementation of commitments and agreements reached in recent times, and bring the good cooperation between the two countries to make more substantial and effective contributions to the development of each country.
