Currently, P. has been prescribed jaw surgery and screw removal, and must practice chewing and needs more recovery time.

Another 19-year-old female student also said that she was born with a missing upper tooth, crooked teeth and a misaligned bite. She saw an advertisement and went to a nearby orthodontic clinic. The clinic staff said it would take 1.5 years to have beautiful teeth.

However, in addition to the previously lost tooth, this clinic ordered the extraction of 4 more teeth of the patient. After 6 months of orthodontic treatment, the effectiveness of the treatment was unclear. When the scheduled follow-up visit came, the dental clinic was not at the old address and did not know where it had moved.

According to doctors, braces and orthodontics should only be performed at reputable dental clinics with full operating licenses from the Department of Health or hospitals to ensure that specialized doctors directly examine and prescribe the correct treatment regimen.

Meanwhile, fake clinics often do not have properly trained doctors but only technicians performing braces for patients, which can easily lead to incorrect instructions, affecting the health of the person having braces.

Owners of these dental clinics often circumvent the law by signing short-term contracts with "real" dentists to open their dental clinics and then terminating the contracts.
