The positive effect of yesterday's session only helped VN-Index stay above the reference level for a short period of time. For most of today's trading session (October 30), the index was forced to decrease significantly.
At the end of the trading session, VN-Index closed at 1,669.57 points, equivalent to a decrease of 16.26 points (-0.96%). This was not the lowest point of the session, even in the afternoon session, the index fluctuated continuously and at times decreased by more than 24 points.
After a good increase, the banking group today lost consensus and is no longer a stronghold supporting the index. The number of bank stocks that increased in price is only a minority, with the participation of BID,SHB , BAB, VBB, SGB. The rest all lost value with 13 codes down more than 1%.

The market returned to being affected by pillar stocks. The VN30 group was mainly sold today with 20 stocks losing points, 1 reference stock and 9 stocks decreasing in price. Notably, none of the 9 green stocks had an increase of more than 1%.
Despite efforts to maintain green,FPT , SHB, VHM, etc. still could not compensate for the stronger decline of other Blue-chips.
VIC fell 3.73% today, taking away more than 5 points from the index. LPB, VPB, TCB, MBB also weighed down the market, even VIX hit the floor today and was sold off the most in the entire market with more than 65 million units traded, 3 times more than the previous sessions.
In the same direction as VIX in the securities group, SHS and ORS also decreased by more than 3%, a series of other codes also lost more than 2% of their value including SSI, MBS, VFS, PSI, VND... This series of securities stocks has been continuously adjusted since mid-October until now, many codes have decreased by 15 - 25% in value.
Liquidity continued to weaken today. The trading value on the HoSE floor reached just over VND23,800 billion, down 7% compared to yesterday's session and marking the fourth consecutive session of declining liquidity. The cautious cash flow and the index remaining in a Side-way state in the past few sessions showed the cautious sentiment of investors.
HoSE floor today at the end of the day recorded 148 stocks increasing in price - 175 stocks decreasing in price, not too bad and in fact still recorded a few bright spots.
The telecommunications group was the most active today. Although its weight in the market is still low, some telecommunications stocks had impressive increases, such as VGI increasing up to 8%, CTR and SMA also increased over 2%, thereby pulling the whole industry up well today.
The information technology group is also a rare industry that has maintained its green color. Although FPT's price increase was not too strong, the stocks in the same industry had better growth rates, typically CMG increased by 3.77%, MFS, HPT and TTN all increased by over 4%, in which TTN almost reached the ceiling with an increase of 6.63%.
Foreign investors continued to net sell with a net selling value of over VND1,152 billion, of which net selling at VIX accounted for VND385 billion, GEX, MBB, SSI, CII were also sold over VND100 billion. On the contrary, FPT still received attention and continued to be net bought by foreign investors with a net selling value of VND195 billion.
