Join hands to fight against counterfeit goods

In Bac Giang province, the situation of transporting, trading in prohibited goods, smuggled goods, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods is still quietly taking place. Grasping the reality, the authorities have increased inspections and discovered a number of establishments trading in smuggled goods, violating the field of food safety and hygiene; trading in counterfeit goods; trading in goods of unknown origin.

From mid-March to mid-April 2025, the province detected and sanctioned 55 administrative violations and 55 violators. The total amount of administrative fines, liquidation of confiscated goods and tax collection was more than 1.2 billion VND. Typically, in April, the market management force coordinated to inspect and detect a case of counterfeit pesticide production and a case of counterfeiting product labels in food trading in Lang Giang district. Currently, the case is being further verified, investigated and handled by the authorities according to regulations.

Counterfeit and fake goods entering the market not only affect the interests of consumers, leading to unfair competition, but more dangerously, affect the health of users if the product is food or medicine. Many violators have been strictly handled, but for profit, they still ignore the regulations to implement. To prevent this situation, there needs to be close coordination between authorities, businesses and consumers. In particular, the focus is on identifying tricks to have effective measures to combat.

According to Mr. Chu Thanh Hien, Head of the Provincial Market Management Department, in Bac Giang, there are some subjects taking advantage of the development and difficulty in controlling e-commerce to trade goods of unknown origin online. Therefore, in the coming time, the force will continue to inspect production and business locations in remote areas where there is little information that can be targeted by bad elements. At the same time, improve information technology capacity and digital transformation for officers performing tasks to prevent business violations in the online environment.

Along with the above solutions, many opinions say that businesses must proactively cooperate with authorities to protect genuine products. In particular, it is necessary to consider the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods as the cause of the whole people. In fact, many successful detections and fights are from denunciations and reflections from the people.
