Within the framework of the event, delegates will participate in garbage collection activities at Bai Chay beach, and garbage collection in Ha Long Bay (by specialized garbage collection boats; at Ha Long International Cruise Port area).

The Vietnam-EU comprehensive partnership and cooperation has developed positively in recent times. Exchanges of delegations and contacts at all levels, especially at high levels, have been increased. The two sides have effectively implemented agreements and cooperation/dialogue mechanisms, and closely coordinated at multilateral forums.

The EU is currently an important economic and development cooperation partner of Vietnam, the leading non-refundable aid partner, the 3rd largest export market, the 5th largest import market and the 6th largest investor of Vietnam.

In 2023, two-way trade turnover will reach 58.5 billion USD, down 1.8% compared to 2022 due to the EU's economic difficulties; total EU FDI in Vietnam will reach 29.12 billion USD (excluding investments by EU companies through third countries). The EU has committed to providing non-refundable aid of 210 million Euros to Vietnam for the period 2021 - 2024.

Regarding climate change response , in recent times, the EU and its member countries have actively supported Vietnam through development cooperation projects on climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, forest protection, waste treatment, etc. With the active support and promotion of the EU, Vietnam has established a Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) with the International Partnership Group (IPG), thereby mobilizing financial and technological resources to support Vietnam in the process of clean energy transition, building a green, circular, and environmentally friendly economy.
