Special art program “Hanoi – The Years…” raises funds to support flood victims

(Fatherland) - Sharing the same wish to support our compatriots affected by storms and floods, the special art program " Hanoi - The Years..." was organized by the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater on the evening of September 20, at the Hanoi Opera House.

On the evening of September 20, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater organized a special art program "Hanoi - The Years..." to support people affected by the recent storm No. 3.

Attending were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong; Acting Director of the Department of Performing Arts Tran Ly Ly and a large audience in the capital.

The special music night "Hanoi - The Years..." includes the chapters: "Hanoi - Those Days", "Hanoi - The Heroic Moments" and "Hanoi Today" is an emotional musical journey, from the heroic melodies of the resistance period to sweet songs praising the timeless beauty of the Capital.

Sharing the difficulties with the people in the North who are suffering the heavy consequences of storm No. 3, Meritorious Artist Quynh Trang, Director of the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater, said that with the desire to send through art a message of love and sharing with the people in the flood areas, together overcoming the losses, giving strength to everyone in this difficult period, the program will therefore allocate a portion of ticket sales to join hands to help the people who suffered heavy losses due to storm No. 3.

Hanoi people are always a symbol of elegance, gallantry, sophistication... naturally expressed in daily life.

That is why in the early days of Vietnamese modern music from the 1930s, Hanoians were always the endless inspiration of famous musicians such as Duong Thieu Tuoc, Doan Chuan - Tu Linh, Van Cao, Hoang Giac, Nguyen Van Thuong with immortal musical pieces: Cung dan xua, Mo hoa, Gui gio cho may ngan bay, Biet ly, Dem dong... which portrayed the gallant, elegant and refined temperament of Hanoians. These romantic works were all performed in the first chapter of the music night.

Many historical changes took place after that: in the fall of 1945, under the leadership of the Party, the people of the whole country rose up together to carry out the successful August Revolution, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam).

The music night “Hanoi – The Years…” has the participation of many famous artists: People’s Artist Thanh Lam, People’s Artist Mai Hoa, Meritorious Artist Viet Hoan, singers Anh Tho, Viet Danh, Thanh Thao, An Thu An, Hue Thuong, Trung Sy, Phuc Dai, Phuong Nam Group, Thoi Gian Group and Huyen Trung band…

A large audience of the capital was present at the Opera House to enjoy this special art program.

In that year’s “earth-shaking” revolution, the uprising to seize power in Hanoi had a decisive significance, promoting the victory of the General Uprising on a national scale. The dedication and contributions of all classes of people, the great sacrifices of previous generations protected Hanoi’s thousand-year-old culture. And after “Nine years of Dien Bien Phu - Making a red wreath, making a golden history”, on October 10, 1954, Hanoi was cleared of enemies, joyfully welcoming Uncle Ho’s troops to take over the capital…

These memorable milestones are recreated through the songs Viet Minh Flag, August 19, Ba Dinh Sunshine, Hanoi Song, Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air...

After the ups and downs of history, Hanoi returns to its inherent peaceful beauty, Hanoi - the capital of conscience and human dignity - where the noble and typical values ​​of the nation with revolutionary tradition, patriotism and the strength of national solidarity converge, crystallize and shine.

The music night "Hanoi - The Years..." is like a journey of discovery about the history, culture and people of Hanoi. Through the melodies of music, the audience will be immersed in the space of the thousand-year-old civilized and heroic capital.
