Moving more than 2.5 hectares of forest to build Phuoc An bridge connecting Dong Nai - Ba Ria Vung Tau

(PLVN) - More than 2.5 hectares of forest were converted to build Phuoc An bridge connecting Dong Nai with Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

On June 4, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province issued Decision No. 1823/QD-UBND allowing the conversion of more than 2.5 hectares of protective forest to other purposes to implement the Phuoc An Bridge Project, a project connecting Nhon Trach district (Dong Nai) with Phu My town ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau ). This forest area is located at plot 3, sub-zone 223, Phuoc An commune, Nhon Trach district, managed by the Long Thanh Protective Forest Management Board.

Moving more than 2.5 hectares of forest to build Phuoc An bridge connecting Dong Nai - Ba Ria Vung Tau

Previously, the People's Council of Dong Nai province passed a Resolution on the policy of converting forest use purposes to serve this key project.

Phuoc An Bridge is over 4.3 km long, with a total investment of nearly VND 4,900 billion, and is expected to be completed in the period of 2021 - 2025. When put into operation, the bridge will connect key expressways such as Ben Luc - Long Thanh and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay with Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster, facilitating the transportation of goods between the Mekong Delta and the Southeast region.

The project also helps reduce the load on National Highway 51, strengthens the connection of the Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai - Ba Ria - Vung Tau seaport system, contributing to the socio -economic development of the entire Southeast region.
