Economic progress
Hung Thinh Parish is located in Hung Thinh hamlet (former Hung Tay commune), established in 2021 on the basis of separation from Ke Gai Parish. Currently, Hung Thinh Parish has 440 households with more than 1,700 people, the main source of income of the people is agricultural production, mainly wet rice fields and small businesses, trade and services.

According to Mr. Tran Van Tri - Chairman of the Pastoral Council of Hung Thinh Parish, in the past, the lives of parishioners faced many difficulties due to monoculture of rice, and lack of interest in applying science and technology in production, so the efficiency was low.
In recent years, people have boldly changed the crop structure, invested in suitable varieties of plants and animals, and boldly applied scientific and technological advances in production, so productivity and output have been increasingly improved.
Thanks to that, households not only have enough food to meet their daily needs but also have the opportunity to sell to increase their income, contributing to building spacious, modern and convenient houses.

In particular, in Hung Thinh hamlet, many households have stuck to their land and fields to get rich, becoming typical examples of production and business. Mr. Tran Van Tri took us to visit the farm model of Mr. Nguyen Sy Thang - who is called "Billionaire Farmer" by the villagers.
Many years ago, Mr. Thang contracted 1.5 hectares of fallow land to build a farm. His family farm is built in a closed model with thousands of ducks, chickens and dozens of pigs, mainly meat ducks and egg-laying ducks.

Duck eggs are incubated at the farm and supplied to restaurants in neighboring wards and communes and around the VSIP Industrial Park. Every year, Mr. Thang's farm brings in a total income of about 3 billion VND, an amount of money that most farmers dream of.
Along with Mr. Thang's family, Mr. Nguyen Van An's family is also considered a billionaire with the main business being rice trading. Each harvest, Mr. An buys hundreds of tons of rice to mill, then import to rice dealers. The rice trading has given him an income of hundreds of millions of VND/year, allowing his family to build a spacious house.

In addition to developing farms and trading rice, many households in Hung Thinh hamlet also earn income from carpentry, making vermicelli and running service businesses (grocery stores, transportation services, electronic repair, etc.). In particular, many households have created conditions for their children to work abroad, bringing in high incomes.
According to statistics from the Hamlet Management Board, the hamlet currently has about 450 workers working abroad (some families have 2-3 members), and many are completing procedures to export labor. Most families with children working abroad have had a big change in income and life, especially having the conditions to build spacious houses.
Along with taking care of spiritual life and faith, the Pastoral Council also coordinates with the Village and Hamlet Management Board to encourage parishioners to actively develop production and business, promote economic development, and reduce poverty. Thanks to that, life has improved, and currently the hamlet has only one poor household.

The village prospers
In addition to economic development and income improvement, Hung Thinh parishioners have responded to the new rural construction movement, contributing to changing the face of the village. In particular, the movement to donate land for rural roads to serve production and travel needs is prominent.

Coming to Hung Thinh Parish today, we will be walking on spacious, clean roads, with tall buildings on both sides in neat rows, looking like a newly planned neighborhood. To have wide and flat roads, many households have voluntarily donated land, donated trees, moved their fences back, and are willing to sacrifice personal interests for the benefit of the community.
Implementing the policy of building advanced new rural areas, the Party Committee and government of Hung Tay commune (old) expanded and upgraded the inter-village road passing through Hung Thinh hamlet.
The road was originally only 4m wide, now it has been widened to 9m, to comply with the standards, the only way left is for families on both sides of the road to donate residential land and garden land. The Commune People's Committee has coordinated with the Pastoral Council of Hung Thinh Parish to mobilize parishioners to donate land for road construction.
After being persuaded and persuaded about the common benefit, the people were willing to donate land, trees, and move solid fences to widen the road. As a result, the people of Hung Thinh hamlet donated a total of nearly 2,000 square meters of land, contributing to changing the appearance of the countryside and beautifying the village.

Among them, the most prominent are the households of Mr. Nguyen Trong Doan ( 150m2 ), Truong Cong Hien ( 120m2 ), Nguyen Van Nien, Nguyen Trong Ly ( 100m2 ), Nguyen Van Luong ( 80m2 )... There are families willing to remove gates and fences worth hundreds of millions of dong so that the hamlet and commune can construct rural roads.
In the field of health and environment, Parish Priest Ho Huu Lien always cares and reminds people to protect their health, prevent epidemics, collect and treat waste, and maintain hygiene in residential areas. The movement of mutual love and mutual assistance in the community is strongly promoted.
Over the past 4 years, the Parish Priest and the Pastoral Council of Hung Thinh Parish have mobilized people to donate 750 million VND to support the construction of 3 charity houses for poor households.
At the Patriotic Emulation Congress, honoring good people and good deeds among Catholics in Nghe An province for the period 2020 - 2025, Hung Thinh Parish was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for its outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement, living a good life and following religion.
