As planned, the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni - the national treasure of India will be carried, enshrined, and enshrined at Tam Chuc Pagoda, Ba Sao Ward, Kim Bang Town, Ha Nam Province on May 17-20, 2025.
During these days, Tam Chuc Tourist Area attracts tens of thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists, and people from all over the country to worship Buddha's relics. This is also the time when criminals often take advantage of people's negligence and lack of vigilance to commit pickpocketing and theft.
To ensure security and order, Ha Nam Police have stepped up the fight against and strongly suppressed all types of crimes, and at the same time advised people to be vigilant to proactively protect their own property.
According to information from the authorities, through analysis of many theft cases, it is shown that thieves and pickpockets are becoming more and more sophisticated. The subjects operate in groups, some groups have up to dozens of subjects, scattered everywhere. Working in groups helps the subjects participate in supporting and shielding each other, hiding assets or hindering pursuers, helping their accomplices escape when discovered.
The tricks of the criminals are often to take advantage of the crowd to approach the victim, jostle, push the victim to lose vigilance and then use the trick of "pickpocketing" to steal property. The targets that the criminals aim for are usually women, the elderly carrying bags, wallets/purses; or valuable assets such as money, gold, phones... in shirt or pants pockets.
Therefore, Ha Nam Provincial Police advise people who come to worship Buddha's relics to be vigilant. When going, do not bring valuable assets when not necessary. Be alert to subjects who often follow and have behaviors of approaching and pushing. Quickly leave the crowd when being jostled or pushed. Always pay attention to places where assets are kept; do not leave them exposed to create conditions for subjects to take advantage of theft; always lock backpacks and handbags to ensure safety.
In case of detecting a "pickpocket", it is necessary to quickly notify the people around to arrest the subject, to avoid allowing the subject to disperse the property. Then report to the nearest police station for timely handling according to the law.
