What additional tasks will the provincial police take on from March 1?

Kinhtedothi- Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee has just issued Document No. 406/QD-UBND dated February 27, 2025 on the transfer of state management functions and tasks on testing and granting of road motor vehicle driving licenses from the Department of Transport and criminal records from the Department of Justice to Lao Cai Provincial Police.

From March 1, 2025, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province will transfer the functions and tasks of state management of testing and granting of road motor vehicle driving licenses from the Department of Transport to the Provincial Police Department for management and transfer the functions and tasks of state management of criminal records and the implementation of public services of granting criminal records from the Department of Justice to the Lao Cai Provincial Police Department.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Transport of Lao Cai province to complete the handover of documents related to State management of driving testing and licensing to the Provincial Police to ensure completeness and accuracy, and to provide information, documents and instructions related to the implementation of tasks received by the Provincial Police.

Lao Cai Provincial Department of Justice arranges all files and documents of State management on criminal records and performs public services of issuing criminal records to hand over to the Provincial Police to ensure compliance with the provisions of law and other relevant regulations.

Lao Cai Provincial Police fully assumed the functions and tasks related to testing, issuing driving licenses and managing criminal records, performing public services of issuing criminal records, and implementing new procedures to ensure continuous and effective operations.

Lao Cai Provincial Department of Home Affairs guides units to edit and arrange records and documents, submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision on arrangement and consolidation of the organizational structure of agencies and units after rearranging the apparatus of agencies according to regulations.
