Hanoi City Police provide guidance on sponsoring foreigners to enter the country

Accordingly, in recent times, the capital Hanoi has become an attractive destination for foreigners thanks to its investment attraction and international integration policies. Many agencies and enterprises in the area have been and are sponsoring foreigners to enter, exit and reside. Through the management of the area, the Immigration Department discovered that many agencies and enterprises sponsor foreigners to enter, exit and reside. When conflicts arise during the working process with foreign workers or when foreign workers end their working period before the expiry date of their temporary residence certificates or temporary residence cards, some agencies and enterprises have not or have been slow in notifying the termination of sponsorship for foreign workers and returning the temporary residence cards to the authorities.

Faced with the above situation, the Immigration Department recommends to agencies and businesses in the city: To learn, raise awareness and comply with the provisions of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam. In particular, Article 45 of this Law clearly stipulates the responsibilities of inviting and sponsoring agencies, organizations and individuals.

Specifically: Carry out procedures to invite and sponsor foreigners to enter, exit and reside in accordance with the provisions of law on entry, exit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam; perform the responsibility of sponsorship in accordance with the provisions of law and coordinate with Vietnamese authorities to resolve issues arising related to invited and sponsored foreigners;

Coordinate with competent authorities to manage the activities of foreigners in accordance with the purpose of entry during temporary residence in Vietnam; coordinate with accommodation establishments to declare temporary residence for foreigners; notify in writing the immigration management agency about foreigners who have been granted valid entry, exit and residence documents but no longer need sponsorship during their temporary residence in Vietnam and coordinate with competent authorities to request foreigners to exit the country.

At the same time, actively cooperate closely with the Immigration Department in managing foreigners entering, exiting and residing in the area. Maintain hotline contact with the Immigration Department to update new regulations and reflect recommendations and suggestions for residence management in the area. When there is a change in foreign personnel, agencies and businesses must promptly notify the Immigration Department to avoid violating immigration laws.
