(VLO) On the morning of August 23, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision to recognize the safe zone communes (ATK) of Tam Binh district.
Attending were Mr. Nguyen Thanh The - Standing Deputy Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee.
Decision to recognize 5 communes of Tam Binh district as ATK communes of the Central Government during the resistance war against France and America, including: Ngai Tu, Hau Loc, Tuong Loc, Song Phu, Binh Ninh.

To be recognized as an ATK commune, it must meet 3/5 criteria based on Decision No. 897/QD-TTg dated May 27, 2016 of the Prime Minister.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the recognition of ATK commune is not only an honor and pride for the government and people of 5 communes in Tam Binh district in particular and Vinh Long province in general, but also shows the gratitude, morality of "drinking water, remembering its source", the attention of the Party and State towards the revolutionary base area, recognizing the great merits and contributions of the army and people here during the resistance war against France and the US.

Thereby, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested ATK communes to strengthen propaganda and education on revolutionary history for cadres, party members and people of all walks of life, especially the young generation. Authorities at all levels continue to promote the glorious tradition of the heroic homeland, solidarity, unity, focus on leadership to overcome difficulties and challenges, exploit potentials and advantages to build the homeland to develop more and more; pay attention to material and spiritual support for people in ATK communes; manage, restore, preserve and promote the value of revolutionary historical relics and cultural institutions in ATK commune.
