Performance report of the opera "Ap Bac Fields"

Cai luong play "Ap Bac Field" (author: Meritorious Artist Huynh Anh, Director Vo Huynh Mo) with the participation of artists: Vo Huynh Mo, Hoang Viet Trang, Huyen Tran, Nguyen Quang, Viet Su, Hoang Sinh and dance group of the Provincial Cultural Center.

The opera "Ap Bac Field" recreates the story of three steel soldiers who were determined to die for the Fatherland in the Ap Bac battle. These are three historical figures including Nguyen Van Dung (Nguyen Van Cong), Do Van Trach (alias Cong) and Hung (Le Van Toan), soldiers of Company 1, Battalion 261, who heroically sacrificed themselves, breaking the "Helicopter and Armored Transport" tactics of the American imperialists, achieving the resounding victory of the Ap Bac Victory on January 2, 1963.

The opera also depicts the image of soldiers and liaison officers who are ready to sacrifice personal love and love for a greater cause, depicts the image of Southern women who are patient and hardworking, devoted to the revolution with immense love for the heroic children of soldiers who sacrificed in the heroic victory of Ap Bac in the history of fighting against the US to save the country.....

According to the Provincial Cultural Center, the performance was for the leaders of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to watch and contribute ideas to improve the play in terms of content and artistic quality. Accordingly, the Provincial Cultural Center will organize performances of the reformed opera "Ap Bac Field" in the localities: Cho Gao commune, Dao Thanh ward, My Ngai ward in December 2025.

The performance aims to preserve and promote the traditional Cai Luong stage art, which is typical of Dong Thap province in particular and the people of the South in general. At the same time, it serves the art enjoyment needs of the people in the province, thereby raising people's awareness of the traditional values ​​of Cai Luong stage art, contributing to the construction and development of an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity.

The opera "Ap Bac Fields" was invested in and elaborately staged by the Provincial Cultural Center, creating many emotions for the audience.
