According to the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City, 3 working groups of the Inspection Department, Food Safety Management Team No. 1 and 2 conducted direct inspections of 175 food production and trading establishments, traditional craft villages, food services, and coordinated with the People's Committees of districts to inspect stores, grocery stores, and moon cake stalls on the streets.

The purpose of the inspection is to promptly detect, prevent and promptly handle violations related to moon cakes, prevent food poisoning and food-borne diseases.

The inspection and examination will focus on violations of quality, production and business conditions, and advertising; focusing on establishments related to moon cakes and products that are in high demand during the Mid-Autumn Festival such as cakes, jams, candies, beer, alcohol, soft drinks, meat, etc.

The inspection force focused on reviewing certificates of establishments meeting food safety conditions, commitments to produce and trade safe food; at the same time, tracing the origin of food, taking samples for testing to determine food safety indicators... Thereby, promptly drawing up records of violations, temporarily suspending establishments that do not ensure operating conditions.

In particular, serious violations will be publicly announced in the media (about organizations and individuals) to warn the community.

Focus on checking hot selling items during Mid-Autumn Festival

In Hai Chau District, food safety control activities take place before, during and after the Mid-Autumn Festival, widely deployed from the district to the ward, at all business establishments, food services, production, including street food.

Similarly, Son Tra District also propagates and disseminates regulations on hygiene conditions of facilities, equipment, and tools in food production, processing, and trading to raise awareness and clarify the responsibilities of food producers, traders, and consumers according to the provisions of law.

The locality also increases information for consumers, emphasizing the selection of safe food processing, preservation and use; only buying and using food and food additives with full labels and clear origin; not using floating food additives.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Hai, Head of the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City, also recommends that consumers pay attention to choosing products with clear origins such as name, manufacturer's address, storage, expiration date... to ensure safety for themselves and their families.

"Moon cakes are products made from many types of ingredients, spices, additives... all of which have the risk of food safety such as spoilage, contamination with mold, pathogenic bacteria, and need to be stored cleanly according to the instructions for use. Absolutely do not choose floating products or expired products," Mr. Nguyen Tan Hai shared.
