Viettel BTS Digital Twin is in the top 5 nominations at the Glotel Awards 2025
Surpassing many large technology and telecommunications companies, Viettel BTS Digital Twin has helped Viettel AI become the only Vietnamese representative to be nominated for the final round of Glotel Awards 2025, category of Best Digital Transformation Project.
Digital Twin, or digital copy, is a technology that creates virtual versions of physical objects or systems, continuously connected to real-world data to monitor, forecast and optimize infrastructure operations.
Viettel BTS Digital Twin automatically reconstructs an accurate 3D model of a BTS station based on image data captured from drones, helping to digitize real-time operating processes.

If in the past, engineers had to climb up each antenna pole to directly measure and check in the field, now the entire structure of the pole, equipment and surrounding area are vividly displayed on the computer, making monitoring and design faster and more intuitive.
In particular, the technical team can also operate directly on the 3D model of the BTS station such as testing adding or removing equipment, measuring technical parameters or surveying a 50m area around the station without having to go to the site.
Viettel BTS Digital Twin also applies AI to identify types of masts and radio equipment and detect early signs of abnormalities such as rust, cracks or antenna misalignment.
It is expected that when put into use, the system can help reduce up to 50% of time and human resources for survey work.
