Instead of relying solely on traditional sales channels, many businesses and cooperatives in Quang Ngai are choosing a new approach, bringing OCOP products to e-commerce platforms. This is an important step affirming the role of science and technology in developing agricultural products, opening the door to domestic and foreign markets.

Tay Nguyen Herbal Medicine Company Limited (Dak To Commune, Quang Ngai) is one of the pioneers in this direction. The company currently owns 9 3-4 star OCOP products. When consumption through direct sales channels decreased, the company decided to change its strategy, invest in technology infrastructure, convert production and business processes to a digital environment, and develop online sales channels through websites and social networking platforms.
According to Ms. Luong Thi My Hue, Director of the Company, being present on e-commerce platforms has helped products reach consumers faster and more effectively. The company also built an internal communications team, produced promotional clips on platforms such as TikTok Shop, Shopee, and collaborated with content creators to reach young customers. Thanks to that, the Company's sales increased by 15 - 20% in a short time.
Similarly, Dak Glei Trade and Service Cooperative (Dak Pek commune, Quang Ngai) is also making the most of technology to sell 6 3-star OCOP products such as ginseng wine, ginseng extract, dried bamboo shoots, dried ginseng, ginseng ginger tea, and dried macadamia nuts. After being certified as OCOP, the Cooperative quickly put its products on Lazada, Tiktok Shop, and social networks. Taking advantage of technology has helped the products quickly reach consumers across the country without having to expand the traditional distribution system.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Ngai, putting OCOP products on e-commerce platforms is not simply a new sales method but also a way to improve product quality standards. When appearing on online platforms, products are forced to fully meet requirements on information, origin, packaging, and certification. This helps consumers feel more secure, creating positive pressure for businesses to continuously improve.

In fact, in recent times, many OCOP products of Quang Ngai such as Ly Son garlic, Tra Binh rice paper, Phu Hoa rock sugar or products from Tra Bong cinnamon have been available on Shopee, Tiki, Voso, Postmart... and received positive feedback from customers. Some products have recorded a steady increase in orders, creating a solid source of income for OCOP entities.
However, to stand firm in the digital market, product quality is still the key factor. Many products, after being OCOP certified, still do not meet the standards of packaging, traceability or production process. This is a barrier that makes it difficult for products to access modern distribution systems or to retain consumers for a long time.
Realizing that, many localities in Quang Ngai have increased support for OCOP entities to improve quality. Training programs on packaging design, consulting on trademark registration, and QR code stamping for traceability have been widely deployed. Some products now meet the standards to enter supermarket systems and large shopping centers, and are highly appreciated by customers.
According to Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien, in recent times, OCOP products in the area have had a clear change in quality, packaging, labels and brand identity. The consumption market has expanded to many provinces and cities, demonstrating the effectiveness of the digital transformation process. "The province is determined not to chase quantity but to focus on product quality," Mr. Hien affirmed.
