The Vietnamese national team played impressively and won 2-0 against Palestine at Thien Truong Stadium ( Nam Dinh ) in a friendly match during the FIFA Days in September.

Two players currently playing abroad (Cong Phuong plays for Yokohama, Japan; Van Toan plays for Seoul E-Land, South Korea) shone together, contributing to Vietnam's victory.
Cong Phuong was the one who broke the deadlock, beating the offside trap to receive a pass from Hoang Duc and then executing a skillful chip shot to open the scoring 1-0 for the home team in the 61st minute.
In the 78th minute, Van Toan sprinted past a Palestine defender before delivering a perfect pass to Tuan Hai, who easily slotted the ball into the net, securing a 2-0 victory for the Vietnamese national team.
This result helps Philippe Troussier's team extend their winning streak to three consecutive matches.
Previously, in the June friendly matches, the Vietnamese national team successively defeated the Hong Kong (China) and Syrian national teams with the same score of 1-0.
These victories will undoubtedly give the Vietnamese national team a huge boost of motivation before entering the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian region.
The Vietnamese national team will begin their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign with two matches in November, against the Philippines (November 16) and Iraq (November 21).
However, according to the plan, before playing against these two teams, coach Philippe Troussier's team will also have a friendly match with the Uzbekistan national team in October.
