Handling of violations in press activities in Hai Phong city

Inspector of the Department of Information and Communications of Hai Phong City handles violations related to press information activities.

The representative of the Inspectorate of the Department of Information and Communications of Hai Phong City said that the decisive participation of the city leaders and the Department of Information and Communications is a key factor. The Director of the Department is always closely involved in the work of orientation, direction, motivation and peace of mind for the team of Inspectors. This concern helps the work of handling violations to be carried out effectively and decisively, while still ensuring humanity.

Next is the close coordination between the Department of Information and Communications with the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the City Police and departments, branches, districts, and organizations in the area. The Hai Phong City People's Committee issued Decision No. 664/QD-UBND dated March 1, 2022 on the Regulations on coordination in monitoring and handling bad and toxic information on cyberspace; the City Steering Committee 35 issued Decision No. 11 dated April 24, 2023 on the process of coordination in handling bad and toxic information; combating and refuting wrong and hostile views on cyberspace. Relevant agencies have strictly and effectively implemented the Regulations and Procedures, creating conditions for the Department's Inspectorate in verifying information and handling violations.

Third, the Department Inspectorate has proactively grasped the thoughts and aspirations of the resident reporters and representative offices, thereby promptly preventing and combating violations. Thanks to that, the number of administrative cases has decreased significantly, demonstrating the proactive and effective spirit of the management agency.

Fourthly, the Department Inspectorate has united, made efforts to study, supplement knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasks. They agreed to promote their capacity, wholeheartedly handle cases, and were not afraid of collisions or mistakes. However, when performing tasks, it is difficult to completely avoid mistakes, but it is necessary to recognize those mistakes with a common goal and not to blame. If there are any, they should be promptly reported to superiors and promptly corrected.

Fifth, it is necessary to prepare carefully for verification and handling. During the handling process, the Department Inspectorate fully considers the constituent elements from both sides (the press and the subject of reflection).

Sixth, it is necessary to combine propaganda, warning, and deterrence with similar content after handling the case. Propaganda content needs to be prepared in an easy-to-understand manner, avoiding heavy technicalities, aiming at clear goals for each time and stage.
