In the brilliant sunshine of an autumn day in August, the 500kV Line 3 Project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi ( Hung Yen ) was officially inaugurated, doubling the joy of victory of the nation on the joyful day leading up to the National Day on September 2.
In recent years, the local power shortage in the North during the peak summer months has created an urgent need to build an additional 500kV line to transmit electricity from the Central region to the North, contributing to providing sufficient and continuous electricity for the economy , ensuring national energy security. With that urgent need, the Prime Minister requested the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) to urgently implement the 500kV line project, circuit 3, Quang Trach - Pho Noi.
This is a large-scale project, with a total length of 519 km, 1,177 pole locations, and a total investment of more than 22,300 billion VND (nearly 1 billion USD).
More than 2.5 million m3 of soil, 705,000 m3 of concrete, 209,000 tons of steel, 503 spans with nearly 14,000 km of various conductors... are the "huge" numbers that General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group Nguyen Anh Tuan announced at the inauguration ceremony of the 500kV line circuit 3. According to Mr. Tuan, this amount of work will take 3-4 years to complete, so when implemented, the 6-month target was once considered "impossible".

With the direct and drastic direction of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Industry and Trade ; the effective participation of the entire political system and local authorities at all levels; the consensus, trust, support and encouragement of the people; EVN, the National Power Transmission Corporation and contractors have been highly determined, made great efforts, acted decisively, closely followed the construction site, closely followed the work with the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, not losing to the storm", "only discussing work, not discussing retreat", "not enough work during the day, working at night", "eating quickly, sleeping urgently", "working continuously 24/7", "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "working through Tet, through holidays, through holidays"; the forces stood shoulder to shoulder, overcame all challenges, and quickly completed the entire project in more than 6 months.
The completion of the 500kV line 3 projects with quality and progress is the result of great efforts, the result of the emulation movement to successfully complete all assigned tasks of the collective leadership, cadres and workers of the electricity sector, relevant ministries, branches and localities, and the support of the people.

In his speech at the inauguration ceremony, in addition to recognizing the efforts and hard work of the investor, contractor and construction unit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his special gratitude to the people, especially those who gave up their houses, their birthplaces and their production land for the project.
To complete the 519 km long line, with 1,177 pole foundation locations passing through 43 districts and 211 communes in 9 provinces, the compensation and site clearance work has reclaimed about 1.83 million m2 with more than 5,000 households affected. However, the skillful mass mobilization work in site clearance has brought "sweet fruit", when the whole population unanimously supported, voluntarily relocated, and sacrificed personal interests for the miraculous journey.
Reviewing the rapid implementation process, completing the entire project in more than 6 months, the Prime Minister shared touching images of thousands of youth union members and armed forces, drenched in sweat, with muddy hands, pulling ropes, transporting materials, cleaning houses and structures under the route corridor, and directing traffic; images of women participating in providing water, food, fruit, and logistics to encourage workers during the hot summer days...
The Head of Government also mentioned the smiling, excited moments of workers and laborers at the construction site, on the precarious high electric poles or the images of climbing mountains, wading through streams to transport materials, and pulling wires, which created a competitive and excited atmosphere expressing the joy, happiness and pride of those participating in the construction site of this important national key project.
“This is a project of trust and strength of great solidarity, meaningful to businesses and foreign investors in ensuring electricity supply, especially in the high-tech sector, believing in the determination of the Vietnamese side to do what they say, commit to do, and do what they do, with specific, measurable, and quantifiable results,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
He also affirmed that the project demonstrates the aspiration, confidence, bravery, and values of the Vietnamese people, with the spirit of "turning nothing into something, turning difficult into easy, turning impossible into possible"; with the meaning of connecting the economy and regional linkages.

Starting from the summer of 2023 with drawings and route directions shown on paper, by mid-summer 2024, the 500kV line 3 Quang Trach - Pho Noi has appeared majestically. This miracle not only plays a particularly important role in connecting the inter-regional power grid, contributing to ensuring electricity supply for the North, but also trains a class of skilled, enthusiastic cadres, engineers and workers, ready to receive and complete all tasks.
From here, the 3rd circuit current has been connected to all regions, carrying the belief and pride of the great solidarity strength of the Vietnamese people, and also carrying the aspirations of "reaching high and flying far" in the journey of building the country!
The spirit of speed and determination to win of the 500kV line 3 project has also motivated people, businesses and the entire political system in implementing important national projects and works, continuing the country's infrastructure development, contributing to the successful implementation of the strategic breakthrough in infrastructure development set forth by the 11th, 12th and 13th Party Congresses, contributing to the completion of the goal of building and defending the Fatherland, towards welcoming Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress.
