Buon Kuop Hydropower Company affirms that Buon Tua Srah Hydropower Reservoir is operating safely.

On November 21, Buon Kuop Hydropower Company (the unit managing Buon Tua Srah Hydropower Plant) sent a document to the People's Committee of Nam Ka Commune (Dak Lak Province) and the People's Committee of Quang Phu Commune (Lam Dong Province) to respond to the false information that is causing public confusion.

In the face of many rumors spreading about "Buon Tua Srah Hydropower Dam being unsafe", causing anxiety for people in the downstream area, Director of Buon Kuop Hydropower Company Tran Van Khanh affirmed: Buon Tua Srah Dam is in a safe state; all equipment and works of Buon Tua Srah Hydropower are in a safe and stable working state; all operating parameters are transparent and under control.

Buon Tua Srah Hydropower Reservoir is spilling over.

The Company always performs monitoring, calculation and provides reservoir operation parameters to the authorities fully and promptly in accordance with the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedures on the Serepok River Basin and the Plan for coordination of natural disaster prevention and search and rescue at reservoirs.

Operating modes such as "lowering the lake water level" and "cutting and reducing floods for downstream areas" are all implemented by the Company in accordance with regulations, to ensure maximum safety for the project and maximum flood reduction for downstream areas.

Currently, the flow to Buon Tua Srah hydropower reservoir has decreased below the flood threshold (at 8:30 a.m. on November 21, 2025, it was 614 m3/s). The reservoir is continuing to regulate flood reduction for downstream areas in the coming time.

To dispel confusion and provide transparency, Buon Kuop Hydropower Company is committed to providing vehicles for local leaders and representatives of local households to directly inspect the current status of the project. This is to help people "see with their own eyes and hear with their own ears", thereby helping them feel secure in stabilizing their lives and production.

Buon Kuop Hydropower Company requested the authorities of Nam Ka and Quang Phu communes to provide timely and accurate information to the people; and advised people not to spread false rumors that cause instability in security and order in the locality.
