Cong Vinh is in the top nominations for AFF Cup Legend

Cong Vinh is considered one of the legends of Vietnamese football.

Le Cong Vinh is on the nomination list alongside many other stars who are also considered icons, leaving many marks on Southeast Asian football such as Kiatisak, Dangda, Chanathip, Safee Sali, Noh Alam Shah, Pamungkas.

The AFF Cup 2024 Organizing Committee wrote about Cong Vinh as follows: “Le Cong Vinh is one of the greatest players to ever win the AFF Cup, not only because of his scoring ability but also because of the number of times he participated in the tournament, 6 times from 2004 to 2016.

His biggest moment came in 2008 when he helped Vietnam lift their first regional title.

Also according to the AFF Cup 2024 Organizing Committee: "Cong Vinh only scored two goals in the 2008 tournament, but his first goal brought a 2-1 victory in the first leg of the final against Thailand in Bangkok and the second was a crucial header in the 90+4 minute in Hanoi that brought the title to the "Golden Star Warriors".

Vietnam's all-time top scorer has scored 15 goals in the tournament's history, but his strike at My Dinh National Stadium in 2008 remains the most important of his 51 international goals.

Most recently, after completing the AFC-C certificate, Cong Vinh received an invitation from SLNA Club, as he confirmed, the role of Chairman of the Council of Coaches of the first team and SLNA youth teams. However, the former striker later shared that he refused for family reasons.
