Regarding Song Phan commune, the Ministry of Transport has responded to the proposal to expand the section of National Highway 1 near Ta Mon bridge through Song Phan commune in Ham Tan district. Accordingly, the project to invest in the construction of the project to renovate the foundation and road surface of National Highway 1, Phan Thiet - Dong Nai section, was approved by the Ministry of Transport and implemented under the form of a BOT contract, completed and put into operation toll collection since 2015. In particular, the section near Ta Mon bridge from Km 1744+829 - Km 1745+490 as well as many sections of the route are exploited with an average road surface width of 12 m, a scale of 4 lanes (2 lanes in each direction, including 1 motor lane and 1 rudimentary lane). In the context of limited public investment capital, it is impossible to continue to expand under the form of BOT, and in the past year, the construction of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway section was also completed. When put into operation, it will contribute to reducing traffic on National Highway 1 in the inner city area and the above-mentioned route, ensuring safety as well as socio-economic development of the locality. In the immediate future, the Ministry of Transport assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to coordinate with the locality to conduct specific surveys to find solutions to enhance safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic on the route.
