On the morning of October 29, a representative of the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) said that the pilot unit will paint slogans with "Stop" signs on branch roads leading to main roads, requiring traffic participants to stop in front of the signs and only proceed when it is safe to do so.
According to the Traffic Police Department, the regulation of giving way when going from a side road to a main road, from an alley to a main road or from a house to the road has been promoted and promoted for many years. However, in reality, many people, especially motorcyclists, still do not comply, leading to the risk of traffic accidents.

The Traffic Police Department is piloting painting letters on the road to remind drivers to stop when going from a branch route to the main road.
To solve this problem, the Traffic Police Department has piloted painting the slogan "Give way - be safe then go" along with the R.122 "Stop" sign on the branch road leading to the main road, forcing traffic participants (including priority vehicles) to stop before the sign, only allowed to go when there is a signal or when there is no longer a risk of traffic safety on the road.
When seeing a sign and reading the words painted on the road, drivers must stop, look both ways, and only proceed when it is safe.
According to the representative of the Traffic Police Department, this regulation has been applied in Japan, when drivers see the STOP sign, they are forced to stop for 3 seconds to perform the "stop - confirm - go" procedure. If they violate this rule, they will be fined from 1 - 1.3 million VND and have 2 - 6 points deducted from their driver's license.
