After only 4 years of guarding the Saigon River, professional military major Hoang Huu Hanh has directly participated in rescuing 6 people in distress and coordinated with support forces to handle 13 waterway traffic accidents.

To successfully complete the mission, each year Major Hanh and his teammates participate in nearly 300 patrols, controlling and monitoring thousands of people and vehicles passing through the Phu My Port Border Guard Station, helping the unit strictly manage people and vehicles entering and exiting.

His teammates often jokingly called Major Hanh "Yết Kiêu" because of the times he risked his life to jump into the river to save people in distress. The combination of courage and sense of responsibility of the soldier in green uniform to protect the people contributed to brightening the quality of "Uncle Ho's soldiers".
