Proposal to prosecute the case related to the degraded Song Lo bridge

Accordingly, through some sources of information, along with the Department of Construction of Phu Tho province issuing a document banning all people and vehicles from traveling through Song Lo bridge, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho province Police has stepped in to inspect and verify.

On that basis, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Provincial Police reported to the Provincial Police Director and brought the above case to be resolved according to the procedure of receiving denunciations, information about crimes, and recommendations for prosecution according to the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Previously, on October 27, some sources reported that the situation of Song Lo bridge, in Doan Hung commune, Phu Tho province, was at risk of being unsafe. The reported information showed that when the river water level across Song Lo bridge was discovered to be low, a series of pile foundations of the bridge piers were clearly exposed, including pier T3, the ground was eroded, creating a large hole about 2m high, with a pile foundation exposing rusted steel reinforcement, completely losing the protective concrete layer.

Song Lo Bridge has been in use for more than 10 years but serious damage has been discovered.

Up to now, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Province Police has coordinated with the People's Procuracy of the same level, the Department of Construction of Phu Tho Province and a number of related units to conduct a crime scene investigation, collect samples for appraisal and is investigating, verifying and handling related individuals, agencies and organizations if there are any violations of the law during the construction and operation of Song Lo Bridge.
