Gold price hits record high again
Since the beginning of March, domestic gold prices have increased by a total of nearly 6 million VND/tael.
Notably, the domestic gold price maintained its soaring peak while the world price reached an all-time record of around 3,000 USD/ounce. At 6:00 p.m., Vietnam time, the world gold price was at 3,000 USD/ounce, up about 15 USD/ounce compared to the previous session. This is also the record price of the precious metal to date. Thus, after only cooling down at the end of the week, the gold price continued to climb back to the peak.
The escalating global trade tensions and geopolitical uncertainties have created supportive factors for gold prices to hit new highs.
Gold prices have surged as investors seek safe havens amid concerns about US President Donald Trump’s tough trade policies. Investors are particularly concerned about recent tariff hikes on goods from China, Canada and Mexico, with the European Union also at risk of imposing tariffs on goods exported to the US. In just the past week, gold prices have hit a record high of $3,000 an ounce twice.
Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 93 million VND/tael.
