According to the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board, the process of raising the central steel roof of the Long Thanh Airport passenger terminal phase 1 began on March 27. By April 4, after 8 days, the construction of raising the central steel roof of the Long Thanh Airport passenger terminal phase 1 was completed, ensuring accuracy, quality and safety.

The central steel roof of the Long Thanh Airport passenger terminal phase 1 weighs more than 5.3 thousand tons. Due to the huge weight of the steel roof, during the lifting process, the units used a combination of pulling and pushing with a hydraulic jack system; using a computer system to monitor the load and related issues. The roof lifting was carried out in many steps to test the load, adjust the technique, and ensure absolute accuracy.

According to the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board, the construction of the steel roof of the central passenger terminal of Long Thanh Airport Phase 1 is a particularly important task, determining the progress of the passenger terminal package. After successfully lifting the steel roof, the units continue to focus on accelerating the construction and installation of equipment at the passenger terminal of Long Thanh Airport Phase 1.

The passenger terminal, the “heart” of the Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1, is the most important item of the project. The terminal has completed the reinforced concrete structure of the underground part and floors (4 floors), and is installing steel structures, glass walls, and terminal equipment. At the request of the Prime Minister , Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) has agreed with the contractor consortium to adjust the progress of this project. Accordingly, the Long Thanh Airport passenger terminal project Phase 1 will basically complete the construction by the end of 2025.
