Da Nang: Tourism recovers strongly, passenger transport demand increases

According to this agency, in the past 4 months, transportation activities in Da Nang have been bustling, meeting the travel needs of passengers and freight transport well. In particular, April coincides with many major holidays and the beginning of the summer tourist season, causing transportation demand to increase, especially in the passenger transport and tourism logistics service segments.

Although the transportation industry is subject to some impacts from new regulations under Decree 168/2024/ND-CP and Decree 158/2024/ND-CP, this is also an opportunity for businesses to proactively innovate, improve service quality, enhance competitiveness and adapt flexibly in the context of a rapidly changing market.

Notably, in the first 4 months of 2025, the strong recovery of Da Nang's tourism industry has led to a significant increase in passenger transport demand. Tourism and inter-provincial transport routes have become the "blood vessels" of transport, meeting the flow of domestic and international tourists well. Transport businesses have proactively expanded their scale, invested in new vehicles and improved service quality, contributing to creating a vibrant picture for the passenger transport sector.

In particular, road transport continues to play a key role thanks to its flexibility and wide accessibility. The completion of transport infrastructure and financial support for businesses have promoted the strong development of the transport industry, ready to meet the increasing travel needs of residents and tourists.

Accordingly, revenue from passenger transport by road and waterway in April 2025 is estimated at VND 225 billion, up more than 8% over the previous month and up more than 40% over the same period last year. In the first 4 months of 2025, revenue from passenger transport of these two types of transport is estimated at VND 820 billion, up nearly 40% over the same period last year.

The volume of passenger transport by road and waterway in April 2025 is estimated at nearly 3.6 million, up 4.5% over the previous month and nearly 36% over the same period last year. The volume of passenger transport by road and waterway is estimated at 121.1 million passengers/km, up 4.5% over the previous month and more than 40% over the same period last year.

In the first 4 months of 2025, passenger transport is estimated at 13.3 million, an increase of nearly 32% over the same period, of which waterways decreased by 14% and roads increased by nearly 34%; passenger turnover is estimated at more than 456 million passengers/km, an increase of more than 40%; of which waterways decreased by 0.6% and roads increased by 40.5%.
