Da Nang cooperates with the National Data Association: Towards building Vietnam's first 'Data City'

DNVN - On September 8, the Danang Center for Supporting Innovative Startups and Innovation, along with representatives of a number of support organizations and startups, had a working session with the National Data Association.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed difficulties related to data management institutions and the need to improve the legal framework to promote the exploitation, sharing and application of data in practice. The representative of the National Data Association affirmed: "The role of the Association does not stop at consulting on data policies and laws, but also aims to create data management products, building a data industry large enough to become a driving force for national development".

A key content proposed by the Association is to propose building a national data model, a data city based on important pillars such as tourism, logistics, healthcare, finance, public administration, education , etc. At the same time, the development orientation will be based on the specific strengths of each locality. The Association said that it has the basic technology and wishes to choose Da Nang as the first pilot site, aiming to build this city into the first "Data City" of the country.

In parallel, the National Data Association aims to establish a large-scale incubator located in Da Nang, and at the same time implement many seminars and events to create a favorable environment for the startup community to exploit data values, develop products and services with high applicability.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vo Duc Anh - Deputy Director of the Danang Center for Innovation and Startup Support - emphasized: "The city is always a pioneer in testing new technologies. Currently, Danang has a sandbox mechanism for startups and is implementing the construction of a financial center. However, in order for the startup community to develop more strongly, it is necessary to soon have regulations on visas for startups, along with a support mechanism to bring products to the international market." He added that the city is researching new policies to create conditions for businesses to expand connections and develop global business.

At the meeting, many delegates also made proposals to the Association, emphasizing the need for a transparent and synchronous data sharing mechanism between state agencies and enterprises; building a management system for official data sources, including healthcare , tourism, education, etc. to support startups in searching, analyzing the market and providing feasible solutions for each specific field.

The working session opened a new direction of cooperation between the Danang Center for Supporting Innovative Startups and the National Data Association, contributing to promoting data application and creating momentum for the innovative startup ecosystem in the coming time.
