The champion of VHU Debate Competition 2023 has been found

With the question of whether to "cover" songs with strong national identity in Hip Hop and Rap style? The two teams Shark War and Firestorm had very interesting debates on the afternoon of September 23.

Whether in the "Support" or "Oppose" positions, the teams all demonstrated excellence in critical thinking and acumen in developing arguments to defend their point of view.

Accompanying the competition as a judge, MSc. Duong Trong Phuc, Vice Principal of Doan Ly Tu Trong School, was quite impressed with the introduction of the Shark War team. Regarding the debate, in a team with members who answer a lot, members who answer less, judge Trong Phuc hopes that the contestants have an equal "stage" to demonstrate their abilities.

Judge To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, highly appreciated the final round's exam questions. The issue of preserving the nation's cultural traditions was a good topic, each team had a clear point of view and spoke eloquently. Each contestant after participating in the competition gained valuable experience, especially the ability to confidently stand in front of a crowd.

"Due to time pressure, some contestants were quite tense and their ideas were not fluent. Overall, whether they supported or opposed, the presentations of the two teams had complementary and supportive ideas. To promote national traditions, it is necessary to balance between preservation and creativity to adapt to modern life" - judge To Dinh Tuan commented.

After 3 hours of intense competition, 3 members of Shark War team, Faculty of Oriental Studies, won the first prize worth 20 million VND.

Firestorm Team came in second with a prize worth 12 million VND.

The Best Speaker Award - the best individual speaker went to Le Thanh Huy (Shark War team), Hoang Viet Tung (Fire Storm team), and Nguyen Ngoc Doan (AYT team).
