Continuing to accompany people and children to overcome the consequences of storm Yagi (storm No. 3), on April 16 and 17, Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company Limited (Dai-ichi Life VN) visited and awarded 180 scholarships worth 180 million VND to 180 disadvantaged students in 3 districts of Kim Thanh, Tu Ky and Binh Giang ( Hai Duong ).
Previously, on December 19, 2024, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam also presented 100 support packages worth VND 120 million to 100 households severely affected by storms and floods in Ninh Giang and Tu Ky districts, bringing the total amount of funding for people and children affected by storms and floods in Hai Duong province to VND 300 million.
These activities are part of the program "Connecting millions of loves - Towards the people of the North" launched by Dai-ichi Life Vietnam since early September 2024, sponsoring more than 6 billion VND to quickly deploy support programs to overcome the consequences of storm Yagi and floods to help people soon stabilize their lives; support medical care, encourage learning to create conditions for children to go to school early in 22 heavily damaged provinces and cities.
Mr. Le Vu Duan, Business Development Director of Northeast A, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam shared: “As one of the localities that suffered heavy damage in the recent storms, we are truly impressed by the resilience and efforts of the people of Hai Duong, especially the studious spirit of the students and the dedication and love for the profession of the teachers. With the message “Connecting millions of loves”, we are very moved to award 180 meaningful scholarships to disadvantaged students here. Hopefully, these scholarships will motivate them to happily go to school, try to study well to look forward to a bright future, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous homeland”.
Dai-ichi Life Vietnam closed the challenging journey of 2024 and made its mark on the market with positive business results: Total insurance premium revenue of more than VND 19,200 billion, market share reaching 13.1%; new insurance premium revenue of more than VND 3,650 billion, leading among foreign-invested life insurance companies in Vietnam. The company's after-tax profit reached more than VND 2,100 billion, contributing nearly VND 1,000 billion to the state budget; total assets were over VND 75,000 billion, an increase of 13% compared to 2023.
Always committed to ensuring superior benefits for customers, in 2024, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam paid insurance benefits to more than 370,000 cases, with a total amount of up to VND 4,800 billion, bringing the total payment amount to more than VND 24,300 billion for more than 2 million cases in 17 years. The company also set aside a technical reserve of nearly VND 50,000 billion to ensure future benefits for customers.
In addition to effective business operations, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has always devoted much effort and fulfilled its corporate social responsibility. Through the “For a Better Life” Fund, the company has pioneered many meaningful community support programs and initiatives with a total contribution of over VND 76 billion across four areas:education , health care, environment and social charity in 18 years of establishment and development in Vietnam.
On December 19, 2024, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam's For a Better Life Fund was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs for its outstanding achievements in protecting, caring for and educating children in 2024. Previously, on December 12, 2024, Dai-ichi Life VN was honored at the 55th position in the Top 500 Enterprises Creating Sustainable Value - VALUE500 2024 and Top 2 in the VALUE10 2024 Ranking - life insurance industry group jointly organized and awarded by Viet Research and Investment Newspaper; the title "Enterprise for the Community - Saigon Times CSR" for the 6th consecutive time (2019 - 2024) awarded by Saigon Economic Magazine on November 14, 2024.
