According to Nguyen Thanh Cuong, Deputy Director of the An Giang Provincial Project Management Board, the DT 941 (extended section) project is a Class II transportation project, with its starting point intersecting the Long Xuyen City bypass and its end point intersecting with DT 941. The project, managed by the Provincial Project Management Board, has a total length of nearly 11km, including 3 interchanges (intersecting with the Long Xuyen City bypass, the road leading to the waste treatment area, and DT 941); 11 permanent reinforced concrete bridges; 10 box culverts, 5 reinforced concrete circular culverts, and other items along the route. The total investment for the project is nearly 863.7 billion VND (720 billion VND from the central government budget, and the remainder from the provincial budget). Specifically, the contract value for package number 19, which involves the construction of roads and culverts, is 193 billion VND, to be completed within 540 days.
The DT941 project (extended section) is one of the key transportation routes, a future inter-regional transportation axis. Upon completion, it will significantly contribute to the completion of transportation infrastructure and promote local socio-economic development. The project will create a new route connecting key areas, reducing traffic congestion, strengthening links between residential areas, industrial zones, and neighboring localities, creating development opportunities for businesses, and encouraging future investment. “The Project Management Board regularly encourages, reminds, and directs the project director and construction management staff to uphold their responsibilities in managing and coordinating closely with local authorities and contractors to promptly resolve difficulties and ensure the project is completed as soon as possible,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cuong.

Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc emphasized that the commencement of Package 19 of the DT941 Project (extended section) is one of the important milestones. Upon completion, it will ensure traffic safety and alleviate congestion on National Highway 91 through the inner city of Long Xuyen, An Chau town, and Binh Hoa commune (Chau Thanh district). Furthermore, the project is significant in developing and expanding the urban space of Chau Thanh district, acting as a catalyst for socio-economic development and attracting investment in the future. Therefore, provincial departments and agencies, the People's Committee of Long Xuyen City, and Chau Thanh district should continue to support and create favorable conditions for the investor and contractor to implement and complete the project on schedule. Investors, contractors, supervisory consultants, and design consultants must uphold a high sense of responsibility and work seriously, objectively, and efficiently to implement projects ensuring quality, timely completion, environmental protection, and occupational safety. Throughout the implementation process, transparency and openness must be ensured; corruption must be resolutely prevented, and absolutely no negative practices, losses, waste, or group interests should be allowed to occur.
“With the decisive involvement of relevant agencies and the unanimous support of the people, land clearance work has been completed 100% according to the approved decision. To contribute to the timely implementation of the project section through Chau Thanh district as planned, the District People's Committee directs departments, agencies and the People's Committees of communes and towns to coordinate with the investor to promptly resolve any obstacles during construction,” said Nguyen Tan Phong, Vice Chairman of the Chau Thanh District People's Committee. |
