The first Tien Phong Half Marathon - 2025 is entering its final stages of preparation, ready to welcome thousands of runners participating in the Green Journey - Giving trust, receiving happiness.
The Tien Phong Half Marathon 2025 is the first large-scale amateur sports event organized by Tien Phong newspaper in Ho Chi Minh City. The Van Phuc urban area is ready for this running festival, embodying the green spirit and modern lifestyle of the country's most dynamic city.
In the inaugural season, Nguyen Hoang My Van, Top 10 Miss Vietnam 2024 and Ambassador for Media & Arts, served as the stage MC. She accompanied the opening, closing, and awards ceremonies, connecting the message, emotions, and spirit of the entire event.
Ngoc Thuy was the MC for the Start/Finish. She was present at the starting point and recorded the runner's winning moment. The two MCs are seen as the ones who inspire, contributing to the excitement throughout the race, from the stage to the lively atmosphere of the race track.
"The Tien Phong Half Marathon will become a highly anticipated annual event."
The first season of the Tien Phong Half Marathon kicked off with the message "Green Journey - Giving Trust, Receiving Happiness." MC My Van believes that the organizers' choice of "trust" as the central theme of the event is particularly noteworthy. This establishes a consistent spirit for the entire running community: believing in the quality of the organization and also believing in the journey each person begins on their own.
"The belief isn't just directed towards the organizers, but also towards myself with every step I take," Van shared.
Mỹ Vân interprets the concept of "green journey" more broadly than just the landscape. For her, it's about a positive, sustainable lifestyle, and how a running event can become a catalyst for this shift in the community. The Arts and Media Ambassador sees the Tiền Phong Half Marathon not just as a sporting event, but also as an activity linked to long-term values.
Having previously hosted numerous sporting events organized by Tien Phong newspaper, MC My Van said she has complete confidence in the quality of the inaugural season. “I think Tien Phong newspaper’s organizational foundation is a very clear guarantee. It’s a new tournament, but it has been built on a serious standard from the very beginning. I expect the event to soon become a highly anticipated annual competition,” My Van added.
As a prominent figure who rose to prominence from the Miss Vietnam pageant, My Van's return to participate in Tien Phong newspaper's new project holds a special connection. This journey continues the spirit of social responsibility she learned from the competition.

"I don't just want to appear in a personal image; I want to spread a positive spirit in the community through sports activities," Van said.
My Van highly praised the route in Van Phuc Urban Area for its green and clean environment, interwoven landscape ecosystem, and water features. For her, this "green vein" creates a sense of tranquility, helping runners maintain a steady pace and focus on a fulfilling experience. She emphasized that the beautiful scenery truly contributes to reducing psychological pressure, helping runners find joy in their journey.
Van also sees her role in media as a bridge, contributing in a small way to spreading the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a dynamic city that prioritizes a green lifestyle. She believes that when approached with inspiration, young people will more easily form habits of exercise. She also sees the division into age groups and gender categories as a sign of humanistic values, creating opportunities for fair recognition for everyone.
Taking on the role of MC for the main activities of the race, My Van considers this a highly energetic experience. She revealed that she had prepared physically for the 5km race, aiming to understand the feelings of runners and convey the spirit of the race through her own experience. "Hosting a race isn't just about leading, it's about blending into the rhythm of thousands of people," she said.
Looking to the future, My Van hopes the race will continue to maintain its green spirit while building its own unique identity based on community, emotions, and landscape. According to her, a sustainable race is one that makes runners want to return "for the feeling, not just for the achievement."
Counting down to the moment of inspiring the runners.
Standing at the two most emotionally charged points of the race, MC Ngoc Thuy said she had the best opportunity to observe the spirit that the organizers wanted to convey. She believes that the spirit of "Giving trust - receiving happiness" is clearly evident in the faces and footsteps of the runners. This is where all the runners' emotions are recorded, from the nervousness and determination before the start to the perseverance, even pushing their limits as they approach the finish line.
Having hosted numerous sports programs and events, the female MC noted that the defining characteristic of the Tien Phong Half Marathon is its systematic approach, built over decades. “Tien Phong has always maintained its reputation for creating internationally standardized running courses, with rigorous medical care and performance evaluation processes. Not many amateur races attract such a full complement of national team athletes,” Ngoc Thuy added.

After surveying the race route and Start/Finish locations early on, the female MC assessed that the organization of this year's race was stable and followed the correct procedures. Regarding organization, she highly praised the coordination and safety in the busiest area of the event. Although it wasn't her first time hosting a race, for her, each season had a different feel because runners are the strongest source of inspiration.
Speaking about this year's runners, she expects the race to create unexpected moments thanks to the creativity and energy of the runners themselves.
Ngoc Thuy believes that the decisive factor in the explosive start is the athlete's thorough preparation. The presence of national team members further enhances the focused and energetic atmosphere.
With both amateur and experienced runners participating in the race, the two groups create an interesting contrast. One side is eager and focused on the experience, while the other is calmer, more planned, and disciplined.
Standing at the finish line, Ngoc Thuy hopes to witness beautiful moments stemming from the runners' spirit of pushing their limits.
Finally, Ngoc Thuy believes that the Tien Phong Half Marathon 2025 contributes to shaping exercise habits and a healthy lifestyle. This is especially important as running is increasingly becoming a socio-cultural activity.
Looking ahead to the coming years, Thúy hopes the race will expand in scale, diversify community activities, and add more distinctive features. "When a race can evoke emotions and create connections, each season will become something the community looks forward to," she emphasized.
