French Ambassador awards scholarships to students who won first prize in French

Mr. Olivier Brochet congratulated the achievements of the students who won first prize in French in the National High School Excellent Student Competition for the 2023-2024 school year, namely Le Phung Anh Quan, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted; Nguyen Hoang Bao Chan, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong and Phung Kim An, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Nam Dinh.

The Ambassador said: French is currently receiving a lot of attention from students. Some high schools in Vietnam that specialize in French include: Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted (Hanoi); Chu Van An High School (Hanoi); Foreign Language High School (Hanoi), Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted ( Hai Duong ); Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (Nam Dinh); Tran Phu High School for the Gifted (Hai Phong)...

The Ambassador congratulated the students on their efforts over the past time and awarded them a short-term summer scholarship in France for 15 days.

“I hope this trip will be given as a reward to encourage you. I always want to promote the passion for French language and French culture for the student community in Vietnam. Hopefully, you will be like ambassadors spreading these values ​​to your friends and young people in Vietnam,” Ambassador Olivier Brochet shared.

Nguyen Hoang Bao Chan, an 11th grader at Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong, expressed his joy and excitement when meeting and receiving a scholarship from the Ambassador. The students also shared with the Ambassador about their efforts in studying; the support and companionship of their teachers and family, and their plans for the future.

The Ambassador hopes that high schools will organize French language exchange activities at their locations in the coming school year. At the same time, teach and disseminate French effectively in the localities, with the hope that educational cooperation between Vietnam and France will be even more effective in the future.

Currently, there are 35 provinces/cities nationwide that teach French. The total number of students studying French is about 38,000. The Ministry of Education and Training has been closely and effectively coordinating with partners to maintain and strengthen the teaching of French in Vietnam.
