General Phan Van Giang met with Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China

( Bqp.vn ) - On the occasion of attending the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum in Beijing (China), on the afternoon of September 13, General Phan Van Giang, Member of the Political Bureau, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense of Vietnam, met with General Zhang Youxia, Member of the Political Bureau and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China.

During the meeting, General Phan Van Giang thanked the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense of China for the thoughtful and respectful reception given to the high-level delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense attending the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum; he expressed his impression of the Forum's scale and confidence that it would be a great success, contributing to promoting dialogue and building trust among the participating parties.

General Phan Van Giang affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State consistently consider developing relations with China as an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in Vietnam's independent, self-reliant, diversified, and multilateral foreign policy. The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam always value and wish to continuously cultivate friendly cooperative relations with the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense of China, and are ready to work with the Chinese side to concretize the important understanding agreed upon by the leaders of the two Parties and two countries on promoting more substantive defense and security cooperation.

Welcoming General Phan Van Giang, leading the high-level delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence, to the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, General Zhang Youxia affirmed that China values ​​the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with Vietnam; and stated that the activities carried out by the two countries' militaries in recent times have contributed to concretizing the common understanding of the high-level leaders of the two countries.

General Phan Van Giang and Senior General Zhang Youxie both stated that, along with the very positive developments in relations between the two Parties and two countries, Vietnam-China defense cooperation in recent times has been given attention and promoted by both sides, clearly demonstrating a more substantive nature with many practical activities implemented such as: high-level delegation exchanges, cooperation in education and training, cooperation between military branches, maritime law enforcement, border management, joint research, and academic exchanges...

Both sides agreed to continue maintaining, strengthening, and developing the agreed-upon areas of cooperation in the future, thereby contributing to further deepening the good traditional friendship between the two Parties, the two countries in general, and the two Armies in particular.

On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang respectfully invites the leaders of the Central Military Commission, the Minister and leaders of the Ministry of National Defense of China to attend the 80th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the second Vietnam International Defense Exhibition in Hanoi in December 2024.
