General Phan Van Giang meets with Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China

( Bqp.vn ) - On the occasion of attending the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum in Beijing (China), on the afternoon of September 13, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense of Vietnam, met with Senior Lieutenant General Truong Huu Hiep, Politburo member, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China.

At the meeting, General Phan Van Giang thanked the Central Military Commission and the Chinese Ministry of National Defense for their thoughtful and respectful reception of the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense when they attended the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum; expressed his impression of the scale of the Forum and believed that the Forum would be a great success, contributing to promoting dialogue and building trust among the participating parties.

General Phan Van Giang affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam consistently consider developing relations with China an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in Vietnam's independent, self-reliant, diversified, and multilateral foreign policy. The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam always attach importance to and wish to continuously foster friendly cooperative relations with the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense of China, and are ready to work with the Chinese side to concretize the important awareness that the leaders of the two Parties and two countries have agreed on in promoting more substantive defense and security cooperation.

Welcoming General Phan Van Giang, who led a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense to attend the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Huu Hiep affirmed that China attaches importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with Vietnam; and said that the activities that the two countries' armies have carried out in recent times have contributed to concretizing the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders.

General Phan Van Giang and Senior Lieutenant General Truong Huu Hiep both said that, along with the very positive developments in the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries, Vietnam - China defense cooperation has recently been paid attention to and promoted by both sides, showing more substance with many practical activities being implemented such as: Exchange of high-level delegations, cooperationin education and training, cooperation between military and service branches, law enforcement at sea, border management, joint research, academic exchange...

The two sides agreed to continue to maintain, strengthen and develop the agreed cooperation contents in the coming time, thereby contributing to deepening the good traditional friendship between the two Parties, the two countries in general and the two Armies in particular.

On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang respectfully invited the leaders of the Central Military Commission, the Minister and leaders of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense to attend the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the Second Vietnam International Defense Exhibition in Hanoi in December 2024.
